This was quite a nice old hotel with a comfortable bed and a decent size ensuite (though there wasno actual shower) with parking outside and situated well for a couple of decent walks uphill to some castle ruins where you will get the most fantastic views.
We did feel that the owners could have been more friendly and the atmosphere seemed a bit strained but we understand there has now been a change of ownership so that may have improved.
The breakfast was excellent (including a vegetarian option) but we were surprised that there was a cover charge of £2.50 each to eat in the restaurant which had the same menu as the bar.
There was a small decanter of liquid in our room but we didn't know what it was and didn't fancy trying it.
Also there was a swimming pool but not quite what we expected - old fashioned and cold in a wooden building behind the hotel.
