Hubertus
Ranked #3 of 5 Hotels in Brixen im Thale
Reviewed 25 February 2013

We just spent an excellent week in Brixen-im-Thale with our 6 year old son and a couple of friends and their 8 year old daughter. Living in west Switzerland I had reservations about driving that far for a ski vacation, but I can say the long drive to Austria was worth it. We had a fair price for the level of quality and services we received at the Hubertus. The staff is welcoming, helpful and true to what we had read about Austrian hospitality.
Rooms: The hotel is cosy and tastefully decorated. We had two adjacent double room plus with our friends. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless, bigger than what we usually have in France or Switzerland. We enjoyed the relaxing wellness area, with the sauna and the hammam.
Restaurant: The breakfast is good. For dinner, we went out three times and otherwise ate at the hotel, and we find that the hotel offers the best food in town; it is fresh, tasty and elegantly served. The restaurant is lovely and very comfortable. The staff is careful to stage the reservations to make sure that the chef and staff can deliver the food on time with impeccable service. So we were asked to come early, around six, which was OK for us with the kids.
Ski: The hotel is a stumble from the ski lifts and ski school office. We could buy the ski pass directly at the reception. Every morning after a nice breakfast we would find our ski boots warmed on the rack in the ski room, walk the block between the hotel and the lifts, we would go up with the kids, to meet with their ski class and friendly teacher for their lesson from 9.00 to 15.00. The local ski pass without the Kitsbühel extension already offers a lot to do. We enjoyed the excellent ski infrastructure and some very nice restaurants on the slopes (Kandler Alm, Skiwiege), as for the self-service restaurants, they are very packed at lunch, it is a good idea to break later or earlier than the crowds.
We had a great time and I warmly recommend the Hubertus.

We have just returned from a weekend in Austria. Friends of ours booked us into this Hotel and we were not disappointed.
Just a few minutes from Kitzbuhel so great location. With a train station located 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
The staff here were very helpful. They looked after our bags when we tried to check in early and put them in the room for us when we had gone out for the day.
The room was very clean, warm and comfortable. My little boy and slept really well.
The staff at check out were again efficient helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We just wished we could have stayed longer.
The food here is great.
We loved it here so much and there are so many activities locally for all the family i am now considering coming back in the Summer for a weeks stay.

What a find. Brixen is not the centre of the universe, but if you are looking for a beautiful hotel in a lovely quiet spot with exceptional food, then come here. The room was spacious, spotless, comfortable and well-appointed. We had a balcony on two sides with beautiful views. The dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent, as was breakfast on the terrace. We are only sorry that we didn't stay longer. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The chef even came out to chat with us. We loved it here and will be back.

The only downside was a nearby church ringing its bell before 7am. Close your windows!

We were a family of 8 adults (age 22 - 52) who stayed for a week in January 2012. We do't have a bad word to say about the hotel - the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were neat, clean and new, the food in the restaurant was excellent and it was close to the ski lifts and town. Exceeded our expectations around every turn.

Very nice and friendly personal.
Very good location, in a walking distance to the lift.s and village centre.
Rooms are clean and big, with balcones, ones which are overlooking to the main street could be loud.
Excellent breakfast - fresh, good variety of bread, cheese, fruits.
Very good kitchen, with light cooking and beautiful presentation of the dishes.
