Everything about this hotel, from checking in where the manager swept in to correct a small problem, to the time we left was perfect. Our room was beautiful, a mixture of casual elegance and country charm. The room was large and had every amenity, from slippers and bathrobes to homemade shortbread on the tea tray and a carafe of port on the table. Wifi may be a little iffy in the room but works perfectly in the public rooms. There is a small bar and a dining room, which we didn't try. We did enjoy the breakfasts, included, which were just about anything you could want. And one morning, even though there was a wedding party having breakfast and we were told there would be a delay, our order turned up in minutes. You can even have breakfast in bed if you wish.
There's also a lovely garden and a pool. One note, there are a lot of stairs and no elevator, so anyone with a mobility problem would not have an easy time here. The hotel is near the airport and one of the island's best restaurants, although a taxi ride from town or the water. But I can't imagine wanting to wander from from this place. It's a wonderful place to spend a few days.

We stayed at the Farmhouse based on the comments in Tripadvisor.

Our room was large and comfortable, although we did have a number of minor items that weren't working. Staff were very focused on attempting to remedy these small problems and did so very willingly. We booked a deluxe room which had a spacious balcony. The stylish and contemporary room had all the amenities that you would expect. Our only criticism, and it is in no way the fault of the property, was that during our stay the wind carried the very earthy and farmyardy smells of the neighbour's herd of dairy cattle. This limited our use of the wonderful balcony.

We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed their fixed price menu, we tend to eat around 8pm and the only downside being that by this time each evening some of the selections on the menu were gone. Very understandable, if a little irritating. Those items that remained were delicious. The hotel has a very good wine list, that has a interesting selection of wines, including releases from the owners cellar.

My sister & I have just spent 3 days at the fantastic Farmhouse Hotel. From the moment we arrived we received the warmest of welcomes. Our superior room was excellent with a fruit
bowl, champagne, chocolates & small decanter of Port to welcome us on arrival. Wonderful patio area, pretty, well furnished and pool for these brave enough to try! Every member of staff made us feel special and every effort made to ensure we were happy with every aspect, room, breakfast, evening meal and where and how to get around the island. Fantastic restaurant with food worthy of a michelin star....The management and whole team should be very proud of what they have achieved ......Keep up the great work! Other hotels should send their staff here to learn how to deliver customer service excellence - They have it spot on!!

What can I say about the farmhouse that hasn’t already been said on here... It is a beautiful hotel, with contemporary stylish rooms. We had an amazing bathroom with expensive toiletries, a walk in rain shower, speakers and mood lighting. The homemade biscuits, fruit, water, port and champagne were all touches that make the farmhouse stand out from other hotels. The whole place just oozes class and sophistication. We had room service and breakfast and the food was delicious. I would actually challenge people to find a better breakfast than the farmhouse breakfast with the magnificent and unexpected bonus of minute steak, cooked to your liking, supplied by none other than the Queens personal beef supplier!!

The service at breakfast wasn’t brilliant as on the first day we waited a long time for tea, coffee and toast and on the second day, the toast didn’t find us until we were at least halfway through our cooked breakfast, which we did find slightly disappointing. On a positive note though, this disappointment was amplified because of the high standards set by the farmhouse.

The heated pool area and hotel gardens are magnificent, a real spectacle. However, we were unable to enjoy these as much as we would have liked to as the hotel is open to the public for lunches and at weekends it gets quite busy. This only becomes a problem when diners allow their children to run riot, unsupervised, in the pool area and grounds. I know this sounds like im a grump but it does infringe on a romantic getaway and it happened each day we were there. There is a sign saying that the pool area is for residents only after 3pm but this was also breached on several occasions. The hotel cannot be held responsible for other patrons behaviour however, at no point during the booking did i expect the place to turn into a busy children’s play area. There is no indication of this on the website or marketing literature so thought that I would share this with fellow trip advisors and make the hotel management aware of this minority negative against what is a truly amazing place.

The hotel was a great place to stay and explore the island. The staff were so helpful and attentive. They always had a smile. The food was great. The rooms were spacious, clean and well equiped. The little touches such as fresh fruit, champagne and port as a welcome gift were really apreciated. We would have no problem in returning to spend more time at this hotel.

WE stayed here on a three night luxury package after one night at Cobo Bay Hotel. You can not walk to another restaurant or bar so you need a car and have to think about drinking and driving (although cabs are easy to get). We did eat one night in the restaurant which was very good food but the actual restaurant itself lacks atmosphere and as we like to try different places we only ate here the once. It would be nice to be able to eat in the function room which overlooks the pool and garden but this was not an option even though it was not being used. We too were given Room 9 which is a nicely furnished room but very noisy. We mentioned this after the first night and they gave us another room which was fine. The staff could not have been more helpful and altogether it was a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Ask to change if given room 9 as very noisy
