My wife and I had been planning to come here for over a decade but three children and busy lives had intervened. We definitely won't be waiting another ten years to revisit this beautiful hotel. We arrived late Friday afternoon and were met with a beautifully lit walkway to reception and then swept to our room in delightful welcoming fashion. We had the nine course dinner with matching wines on the Friday night and can only describe it as sensational - our only argument was between ourselves as to which were the best courses and wines. A brisk visit to Oxford and pub lunch were followed by in-room treatments and then a return for the a la carte menu on Saturday night - all our selections were excellent and the cheese board with paired British and French cheeses was an added delight. We rounded off our night with a visit to the wine cellar. Sunday morning brought the lovely breakfast buffet again and autumn sunshine to enjoy the amazing gardens. We could not have asked for anything more in terms of service, relaxation, cuisine and atmosphere. A truly wonderful weekend - our thanks to everyone at Le Manoir. Merci beaucoup!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Manon room which was beautiful - secluded yet close to the main dining and hotel ar...

Celebrated our wedding anniversary in this fabulous place. We were received with a very good bottle of champagne and canapees to die for...lovely bar, great choice of music. i went for the tasting menu and it was really a nice experience. The ambiance was very classy and romantic and location so lush and green. Enjoyed the fact that they grow their own produce and everything is well sourced and really tasty. Enjoyed my stroll in their breathtaking gardens...Will definitely go back again. The price was not extortionate and the service was impeccable, an amazing experience.

Le Manoir had always been on our list to visit and we eventually managed to get there for our anniversary. We had booked a deluxe room and was looking forward to treating ourselves to the 9 courses that evening. A member of staff was waiting for us (with a needed umbrella) when we arrived and was shown to reception. So far so good. As it was 3.30pm we didn't wish to go straight to our room and opted to head straight for the bar and proceeded to get through 2 bottles of champagne (it was a celebration after all). At no time were we offered any kind of nibbles/canapés/etc as one would expect with a drink, let alone 2 bottles of champagne! We asked for something and was given an extremely measly tiny dish of salted almonds. Shocked - yes! Disappointed - very! Not what you would expect at an establishment of this standard. As our dinner reservation was not until 8.45 we wanted something to help with our 2 bottles and so opted to order a little salad to share which incurred an extra £15.00 surcharge on top of the cost of the salad - why? we did not know but didn't want to spoil our enjoyment and feel embarrassed to ask. So we head off to our room which was delightful apart from the fact that the air con didn't work properly, one of the taps in the bathroom was a little dodgy and the shower gel dispenser in the shower was broken. We weren't going to let these minor issues spoil our evening so we headed on down dinner. Due to the fact that we had something to eat a few hours earlier we couldn't manage 9 courses so we ordered the 6 course menu instead with 2 flight of wines. Each course arrived with the wine to go with it but after the 1st glass of wine my husband cancelled the last 3 glasses of mine well in advance. Food was good as expected and after our long day and evening we returned to our very comfortable bed for a very good nights sleep and looked forward to a little lie-in in the morning. Unfortunately, we were next door to a room with a screaming kid which woke us very early and continued screaming until we decided to leave our room and head for breakfast. As you would expect breakfast was good, although nothing to compare to other top hotels of the world but nevertheless very enjoyable. We packed up and headed to reception to pay our expected extortionate bill. Our car was waiting outside and we headed home quietly undecided if the whole experience was worth the £1,500 for the night. Not sure really, we're still trying to decide after all there are many other fabulous hotels around the country with 2 Michelin stars. Oh, and by the way, we were charged for the 3 glasses of wine that were cancelled at dinner. Poor show!

As a special treat we visited Le Manoir for lunch and an overnight stay for my birthday. What can I say……….superb! A little slice of heaven, a divine setting with the most gorgeous gardens and perfect staff. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and the attention to detail was faultless. Due to a chronic illness my dietary requirements are complicated and I am unable to eat rich food. I could not have been looked after more, my food was perfect and beyond delicious. Our room was spacious, comfortable and the bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home with me. I am now looking for an excuse to go back as soon as possible!!! Merci Le Manoir

Truly special, everything about Le Manoir from the tiny attention to details that speak volumes, the friendly and warm staff, the impeccable service, the outstanding food, the sumptuous surroundings, the unique and luxurious rooms, I could go on and on, every little detail is thought about to make your stay relaxed, comfortable and extremely special, a well worthwhile super luxury experience.

Everyone here is geared up to genuinely make your stay memorable even down to Mr Raymond Blanc himself when randomly bumping into him walking around his gardens 'Voila'!! He makes you feel so welcome and this filters through amongst all his staff.

Merci beaucoup, Le Manoir c'est magnifique!

Booked 2 nights here. First impressions good so far some one parked the car for us on a freezing day. Walked down the path into reception. Stood waiting for a couple of minutes where there were 3 members of staff with clip boards. One approached and asked "Are you waiting for a cab?" Er actually No. Just had a 2 hour journey here and I am freezing !! We were shown to our room which was spectacular. Even though we had booked 2 nights we had to be told what time we were to eat. This happeneded to be 9pm. Far to late for me but oh well that will do. We started on the mamouth task of something like 10 courses. Only half of them were memorable. The other half not so good at all. At 11.30pm still eating !!! Eventually we finished and that night could not sleep as we ate so late. Breakfast in the morning was good. The next evening we were faced with the same menu, I thought it may have changed as people like us that had stayed 2 nights or more may have wanted to try something different. Then the billl well into the thousands. This was a special 40th birthday treat and I believe there is better out there.

Been thinking of visiting this establishment for a long time. It did not disappoint, but at the same time I will not be staying overnight again, as I don't think it is worth the cost, unless I was at loss of where to go or I was having a massive celebration. The big downside of this property is lack of facilities - if there was a spa it would have upped my experience. There is a garden, which is very well kept, with lovely Japanese Garden ... but not much more except extensive countryside if you plan on a walk or run.
Room
Rooms are given names and are all different in design. We were in "Snow Queen" . Very good room. Nice size and bathroom has separate shower and bath. 2 wash basins. Flat screen TV. Toiletries are all full size, which is nice, not for taking away.
Four poster bed. Fruit and bottle water supplied. Free internet. Furnishings are superior quality. Very clean. I did not need the air con, so just offed it, but it seemed a little noisy. Large crack in mirror desk - which needs repair.
Turn down service.
Dinner
Pre dinner drinks at bar area with roaring fire. Good nibbles and perfect background music.
Service - perfect. Attentive but not OTT.
Food very good, up there in the Michelin stars.
But lacked WOW factor for me. Bit disappointed with dessert. Had Venison for main and that was good - but not "special". Coffee was very good.

BREAKFAST - now that was WOW. The spread on the bufett was very well done of superior quality. Lots of fruit, stewed fruits with no sugar. Fresh juice - even pomergranate shots.Cereals, grains, cheeses. Main course was cooked to order and I had perfect poached eggs with mushrooms, spinach & tomato. Be warned the portion is small - fine for me but I know people who would have needed more.
