My wife and I stayed here 7 years ago. We returned for 2 nights this time. It was reassuring that standards remain very high, with great attention to detail and excellent staff. The room 'Boticelli' was a delight, little touches like sugared almonds, daily fresh fruit, classical music, a decanter of madeira, remained unchanged from our previous visit. The food was outstanding. We had the tasting menu with matching wines thre first night and a la carte the second night. It would appear a number of reviewers complain about the price. Menus are available on the hotel website with prices, and this type of luxury involves huge resources. A massive treat, of course, but better to envelop yourself in luxury and enjoy it rather than keeping an eye on the price all of the time. I cannot understand some comments regarding the food. This restaurant is at the very top of its game.
