We have just come back from a one night stay at the Angmering Manor, the staff were really helpful. We were rung prior to our stay to ask if we wanted a meal as the restaurant would be open only for us. However we though a local pub would be fine. Unfortunately being a Sunday there weren’t many open. So the staff very kindly rang around local restaurants to see if they were still serving rather than us walking everywhere.
The room itself we were very impressed with a twin room the decor was lovely the bathroom very clean really nice shower a nice added touch of chocolates on the pillows! However I do have to agree with the pervious review for a 4 star place the carpet is very stained, there was a lot of wood chips off the mirror and side board, and no mattress protector. My main problem was the kettle was filthy and the cups had not been washed from before and they were black with dust.
We did have a bit of a ghostly experience during the night which was a bit interesting but also added to the experience. The manor is a beautiful place and the staff really made up for the maintenance issues of the room. One tip though bring your own hairdryer as theirs is a bit useless!
I would defiantly stay again.

My wife and I spent a night at Angmering Manor and thouroughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel is a very old building, with dark wood panelled corridors and low ceilings. We stayed in room 202, which was small but totally different from any other hotel we have stayed in. The furniture in the room is cream painted wood and carved in beautiful patterns. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. Our en-suite facilities consisted of a nice shower room with plenty of room to move around, but beware the low ceiling!
We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food was fantastic.
The hotel also has a nice. but small, bar. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpfull. We will go back and stay for a longer time at some point in the future.

We have just held our wedding at the manor and booked the venue for the whole day. Della and Mark have been the perfect hosts and given valuble and knowledgeable help along the way.Never pushy and always accomadating. This venue is ideal for a small but select gathering and any potential marrying couple will benefit from the managable size and personal attentions to detail that is severely lacking in big corporate chains. The food quality was superb and the staff friendly ,efficient and not over bearing. The 17 roooms are all themed beautifully, well situated and beautifully finished. od al our 90 guests not one negative and those that travelled (even from canada) said it was a superb venue and will definatly stay again on their own choice.i am delighted we chose the Manor for our special day,

Room Tip: all rooms are great, ask for a four poster for a real country feel.

Going to a local wedding and knowing we would return late we booked in early (10:30am), were shown the room, given the keys to our room and the front door. They took our luggage to put in the room when it was ready.
We returned at about 1:15 in the morning, hotel in darkness and went to our room, only to find no luggage. I am an insulin dependent diabetic and my night time insulin was in my luggage.
No one was up, so we searched the reception area and all the ground floor areas we could access for our luggage without success. There was no sign or any evidence of any emergency contact number or procedure. We returned to the room and looked in the hotel services guide, there was no emergency number there. We tried 0 on the phone, nothing happened. We didn't want to resort to setting the fire alarm off or calling the police out so I ended up taking some of my daytime medication.
The following morning there was no one on reception but I found a staff member who said she would fetch the manager. She came back 5 mins. later without the manager but carrying our luggage. I took the luggage to our room and sorted out my medicines. I decided to speak to the manager when I could find her.
the following day after a poor breakfast we packed and on departure asked to see the manager. It was her day off. We explained our dissatisfaction with the service and were told they could not compensate us as we had booked and paid on-line. The staff promised to get the manager to contactus. It is over a week and we have not been contacted.
From home the following day I spoke to someone at Relaxinnz central booking facility. On her advice I wrote a detailed report of my experience. This was forwarded to the Area Manager of Relaxinnz and Head Office (being the Chapman Group of Hotels). That was over a week ago and I have heard nothing.
If you have read tis far I apologise for the lack of information on the hotel. What I want to make clear to you all is that Angmering Manor, Relaxinnz, and the Chapman Group are incapable of providing a safe environment with competent staff, and do not keep their word. As this is a service industry I am apalled, and would suggest that these people are incompetent to handle the public in a safe and responsible manner. We will never go to another of their establishments. They have had over a week since our visit and letter and we have heard nothing from anyone. They are clearly not interested in any criticism.

Room Tip: Unable to comment. Only saw our room which was very tired. Non working lights, broken light cord, di...

We booked a last minute weekend break and we were not disappointed with the choice. The hotel is located in a pretty village, hidden behind a wall you could almost miss it. Driving in to the car park you get no real idea of the charms of the inside. As you walk through the front door into the wood panneled lobby you feel almost like you've stepped back in time. The way through to the rooms through a "hidden" doorway and creaky old stairs and corridors adds to the character of the old building. Our room was well appointed with a modern yet characterful feel with big solid wood sleigh beds (we booked late so had a twin room). One drawback to the room (208) is its location above the kitchen so the extractor fan noise was a little annoying but you get used to it and it shut off anyway when we went to bed. The pool was pleasantly warm, gym empty, and the sauna small but nice, and again had it all to myself. Didn't try any of the treatment spa services but imagine this appeals to some. We ate at the restaurant in the evening and despite a big function taking place service was polite and not rushed. Particularly liked being served by a waiter in a bow tie, very classy! Food was very tasty with reasonably sized portions, and not overly expensive either. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. It would also make a very classy wedding venue or party venue.

Set in an old manor house with modern room and facilities. Upgrade to a four poster room for a superb stay, including spa bath. The staff are very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. I will stay again for sure.
