Slightly off the beaten track this pace benefits from not having traffic noise or street rowdiness. There is some car parking spaces off the front drive and a small pleasant garden to the rear containing a water feature with roped handled bridges across and some garden ornaments. The outer part of the restaurant overlooks this as does the swimming pool room. The bar opposite the small reception desk is a fairly small room with limited seating. Our room (204) was reached by a rather tortuous route up stairs and along narrow corridors with some steps and several fire doors to be negotiated. The lights to the long corridor congaing two sets of steps only came on when you were several paces into the corridor and I found the whole route difficult to memorise and would not like to have done it in response to a fire alarm! The bedroom itself was pleasant enough if you appreciate the rather garish white 'ornamental' furniture (illustrated in brochure and website) but the height of the bed end and the slope of the attic type sealing meant that it jutted out further into the room which could ill afford to lose this space at the end of the bed. The window was tiny and further divided into little areas with small opening parts which might become critical should we experience a hot summer's night. A small closet with hanging rail was skillfully set between window and entrance to a pleasant shower room with a large sized shower . The towel rail was very hot a fact which you did well to remember when sitting on the toilet beside it! I appreciate a firm mattress but this one was hard and as such not comfortable.
We had booked an evening meal and were glad we and as the restaurant was busy and there was also a youngster's birthday party taking place . The meal menu was OK as was the the cuisine but not excellent, and this is another place where they play 'search the vegetables' - most of which are beneath the meat while one is pureed and decorating the plate. I requested no potatoes but that was ignored and I can quite see why as the dish would look pretty empty had they been removed! The creme brûlée was enjoyed by my husband but the chocolate fudge torte was perhaps a little 'elderly'.
We are used these days to having a good buffet available at breakfast on both sides of the Atlantic and the Channel. As mentioned by another reviewer all that was available was a choice of packaged cereals and a couple of jugs of juice and a dinner plate of sliced oranges, grapefruit and melon. The cooked breakfast was a disgrace with a small piece of bacon , a greasy sausage and a broken fried egg atop a slice of overdone toast.
We had Sunday lunch there entertaining two guests. This was acceptable apart from lack of apple sauce with the pork they may have been a teaspoonful present. unfortunately the table was rough around its edges and my clothing got damaged by this! We looked only at the small but adequate pool but the gym was like everywhere a bit too small for what it contained.

Room Tip: Ask about levels, distance and steps if this is important e.g. for elderly etc.

Attractive location. Room was stylish and overlooked attractive gardens. bathroom a little dated but very clean. Some of the soft furnishings in room were white and could do with a clean also the carpets. breakfast was fine but very basic for a 4 star accommodation. Would be nice to have more of a choice.

I was working for one night in Worthing over the Bank Holiday weekend so my girlfriend and I decided to stay over for a bit of relaxation. Realising the weather wasn't going to be great we opted for a hotel with a pool so we could hang out there if we needed to.

The welcome was really warm (as was the service throughout) and the lady who greeted us and showed us to our room couldn't have been lovelier. The room was surprisingly ornate and lavish, and very comfortable. Lots of character.

The pool, which was one of the main reasons for coming to the hotel was probably the least impressive part, but that is mainly because there is just no seating around it to relax in. You can't sit by the pool and read, for instance and there is no Jacuzzi for any variation. That said, the pool itself was good temperature and we were able to relax in it, it's just a shame that the only chairs are in the changing/locker area. Also, being a Bank Holiday the spa services weren't available, which was a shame, but the variety and costs all looked very good.

Really lovely breakfast. Small portions and if you take anything out of the cooked breakfast they don't just replace it with something else (though the service was good enough that I imaging they would have if I'd asked), but it was all beautifully cooked and presented.

We had our wedding at the hotel. We simply could not fault the hotel or staff in any way. Special thanks to mark, della, martin, amy et al for the great food and service! We have stayed at this hotel on several previous occasions and never been able to fault it. Great value, great food and great service all round!

Room Tip: Room 103 has a great 4 poster and jacuzzi bath

I often stay here on business and I have to say that it is good value for money, although some of the rooms are slightly tired e.g bedside lamp not working or plug detached from chain in sink etc.. all very minor in itself yet cheap and easy to put right so I am a little disappointed that it's not put right.
the restaurant is amazing. The quality of the food is just superb and reasonably priced too.
the staff are wonderful and very engaging and polite.
I've not seen or used the pool!

Do not let these minor niggles put you off your stay - every room is different and a little "quirky"

I just love this place
