Food service ambience all superb the landlord is smashing even though he looks a bit odd. The best steaks we have eaten for a long time. Lovely relaxing area by open fire I wonder who supplies their fire wood it seemed very good quality. Anyway will be returning as often as possible definitely the best pub in the area.

Becoming a trustworthy Pub Lunch any time of year. This time a blustery wet Post Christmas Monday. Check the Aviary in the rear Car Park. Well kept Budgies Cockatiels Quails plus twittering Canaries and Finches adjoining make an excellent attraction for all ages, prior to going inside the Pub. Not so keen on the Rabbits in smallish Hutches though!
Inside the low beamed Olde Worlde rooms give a warm welcoming atmosphere. The young staff (or is it me just getting older?) are attentive and warm in their service and a Pint of Bass and J20 quickly appeared as we ordered Mains. Lots of Homemade options on the Menu which us good. We opted for a (fiery) Chilli Con Carni (with Rice) plus a Lasagne with Croquets. Delicious!
Our 5th visit over the last 12 months. Never came away dissatisfied. Simple well presented Pub food at reasonable prices any time of year.
For Birders or Walkers the Shustoke Reservoir is literally across the road to walk off the Calories or fill up after you ve been!

Went for dinner, spare of the moment and wanted to try somewhere different. Had no problems making a same day reservation and table was ready on arrival. Nice country pub setting and atmosphere. Food cooked to a high standard. Only criticism was the garlic mushroom starter was a bit basic (literally garlic mushrooms which looked like they were straight out the freezer) maybe a bit of salad with them would have been nice. All in all a pleasant experience.

This is our second visit to the Plough at Shustoke. On this occasion it was a family get together of 20 people - some of us having travelled up to 90 miles to get there. We were not disappointed. The staff were helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We all had the Sunday Lunch - NO complaints by anyone including fussy 10 year old twins. The grandchildren disappeared between courses to the snooker room and always seemed to know when the next course was on the table. They were happy!! A room had been set aside for us due to the number of people in the party which of course meant that we weren't a problem to other diners within the pub, which was busy. Couldn't fault the meal in any way. Incidentally, they provide a generous cheese and biscuit selection. If we lived closer, we would have no compunction in using the Plough on a regular basis. We are all looking forward for another reason to visit this venue. Another birthday perhaps from our Coleshill family branch.

A familiar & tasty option for many a Sunday Lunch, the food always has a 'homemade' feel with excellent FRESH vegetables taking equal billing with the meat rather than being an afterthought. I'd recommend a few pints at the nearby Griffin Inn then a stroll/stagger down to The Plough to satisfy your boosted appetite!
