A superb B&B experience. Great hosts, wonderful house - within easy reach of Cambridge and Bury - and attention to detail is excellent. Our room was stylish but relaxed and importantly for us, child friendly, with a child-friendly welcome from our hosts, which is unusual for a B&B. The breakfast was very good. Highly recommended.

We were due to attend a function at the Leaping Hare and the snowy conditions in January led to a last minute decision to look for accommodation in the area to avoid the drive home late at night. Well, what a good decision that turned out to be!!

From my first phone call to Sharyn, she and John couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. Their house is truly beautiful and our room was very spacious with a lovely en-suite. Breakfast was a real treat with an open fire crackling away and a good choice of cereals, fresh fruit and of course a full English and chatting with our friendly hosts was very pleasant. With two pubs and a good restaurant in the village I really don’t think that you could do better if you are looking for accommodation in the area.

My friend and I visited I worth House at the beginning of December 2012 when we were attending a party in the next village.
On arrival we found a beautiful, large house with ample parking. We were very warmly greeted by the owners, who were lovely, warm and welcoming hosts. The house itself has recently been refurbished both tastefully and sympathetically to the period. It has a very clean, calm but homely ambiance. The bedroom we had was large, spotlessly clean with lovely decor and a very comfortable king size bed. The ensuite was a real treat with a beautiful roll top bath, and also a lovely powerful shower.
Breakfast the next day turned out to be a real treat. It was served in a beautiful breakfast room overlooking the garden. It was a particularly cold, frosty morning but there was a lovely roaring fire lit for us. Attention to detail was superb, from the crisp white table cloth, homemade conserves, gorgeous poached pears in Marsala wine, exquisite individual little spoons to beautiful fresh roses. There was a good choice of juices, cereals, fruits and yoghurt and the full English was good quality produce cooked to perfection. Very high standards throughout coupled with expert hosting skills means I will definately return to Ixworth house, we only stayed one night which wasn't enough but we felled totally pampered and relaxed following our stay. The room cost was £80.00 Inc breakfast for 2 sharing.

We stayed here recently and was greeted with a very warm welcome by Sharyn and John on our arrival who are superb hosts. The house is fantastic, somewhere you would love to own. The attention to detail being "top notch". The breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, cooked breakfast, toast etc. etc. Everything and more, that you could want. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay here.

Room Tip: All the rooms are superb.

Found in the lovely Suffolk village of Ixworth close to Bury St Edmonds, you'll find a warm welcome from the lovely owners Sharyn and John. Ixworth House is a beautiful Edwardian period home, with all the character that comes with properties of that period. As a B&B it is very well appointed, immaculate, and very comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect from a luxury B&B. I especially loved the full English breakfast in the dining room with the fire roaring (it was December). I had one of the best night's sleep I've had in a long time, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Here you can enjoy quality comforts in a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely recommended.
