I've been fortunate to see and hear Tim Pitman twice at the Knatchbull. The second time he was accompanied by Hayley Jones, a classically trained soprano. Both times my partner and I had an excellent evening. As usual the food was superb in quality, quantity and price and the beer and wine are particularly good. Pete and Sunny the host and hostess are particularly friendly.

Enjoyed a night out with friends at The Knatchbull. Food was good, enjoyable entertainment and evening was good value. The Thai food and the curries were tasty and would recommend. We were not in a rush and when we wanted to order sweets were told Kitchen had closed, however, the Landlord said he would see what he could do. We had our sweets, tasty and again reasonably priced.

My wife and I were on our way back from a classic car show and decided to stop to have lunch before heading to London. We had a nice chat with the locals and the owner, and we enjoyed our Thai rice and a superb steak and kidney pie, both served in generous portions. The place is cozy and I had the chance to try a 'Hobgoblin', a delicious local ale. We highly recommend it.

My wife and I called in at this pub totally by chance on a cross journey looking for a light lunch. No sandwiches but the bar staff ( and locals) were lovely and helpful and came up with lots of suggestions. We plumpted for Thai fish cakes with a chili dipping sauce which came with a light salad. It was all delicious. The pub had featured at an important high level meeting in WW 2 and this was highlighted in the bar - very very interesting. A little bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort.

If you want good wholesome food? if you want authentic thia food? If you are looking for the absolutely freshest and most sustainably captured fish........then welcome to the knatchbull!

This pub suffered badly whilst under the previous tennants care, so much so that we avoided the place completly and so did many of the locals.

Now this place has new management, a refurb and resuarant class fresh locally sourced food!! The fish is provided by a local spearfishing expert; on the menu is: bass, plaice, flounder, sole, pollack, red and grey mullet and during peak summer months exotics like john dory, triggerfish, gilthead bream and even monkfish! All fish are hand captured by way of spear and feediving to furnish the locals with probably the freshest and tastiest fish in the UK. service is friendly and fast. Pete the landlord is a real charmer and endeavours to ensure your visit is unforgettable.

What an amazing turn around.
