A slice out of time - a proper 'public house' with no serving bar, a couple of rooms with tables to sit around and chat and a large garden with some great views. The welcome is warm and the beer is cool. Get there while you can!

I have been drinking the last 47 years and I have drunk in pubs from Inverness to the Isles of Scilly and this is my favourite. It has not changed in years and has its own wonderful character. The Butcombe is served directly from a barrel and if you like Butcombe you'll love it here because no other pub serves it as well. It doesn't open on Monday lunchtimes and has no hanging sign outside to show where it is, but that's all part of the charm. Find it, enjoy it, you wont be disappointed

This pub is very quirky go back 200 years where a local farm has turned there 2 front rooms into a drinking pub the Tap room and the Bar but there is no bar a few beer and cider barrels on a shelf.Walk in and the very pleasant Landlady appears from no where serves you takes your money (no till). Then wane your way out to the garden if its dry Lovely ,this is only 1 left out of 6 pubs left with know bar and only a few miles south of Bath ,have a look
