Stayed at the George & Dragon for a night whilst walking and the room was just fine, nice and clean with a nice hot shower. Breakfast was included and had a good choice of food. We also spent the evening there and enjoyed a few of the Dent beers which where very good and a fresh cooked Lamb Henry hit the spot after a long days walking.

My Wife and I holiday in Dent every year. Dent and the surrounding area is one of the most beautiful places in the Uk. Although we have never stayed in The George & Dragon, we often pop in during our visits. Most of the time I would agree with the very good comments regarding the staff, food and especially the beer. However, I would also very much agree with some of the negative comments regarding the Landlord. We have been lucky in that he has only been present on a couple of occasions, but have never found him particularly friendly or welcoming. On our last visit, we walked in on a Thursday evening, looking forward to an evening meal and some drinks. The Landlord was sat on a computer by the bar and as we walked in and said "hello", he peered at us over the top of his glasses as though we had just landed from another planet without reply. The Barmaid came dawdling over whilst texting and served us drink. When we asked about a food menu she replied matter of factly that they were not doing food tonight, only for residents. My Wife asked if that was usual for a Thursday evening and the reply was "no, it's not usual". She then popped the drinks on the bar and said the price. The manager sat within earshot of all this and neither offered an apology, explanation or even a suggestion, as Dent is not teaming with restaurants. As we sat having a drink that we probably would not have ordered, we noticed others walk in, order drinks and then get told "no food tonight". Surely a note outside would have been nice ? As Mr Friendly sat there and said nothing, we changed our plans for the following evening and went elsewhere. Beautiful location, great beer, good food, shame about the Landlord.

Our room was clean and tidy and the host very accommodating you can also charge everything to your room in the bar which I find important. It can be a little noisy in the morning from the street as its cobbled so you here cars driving by which means your up for breakfast. The breakfast was very good and plentiful the only issue is the table is set with way too much crockery that's not needed and therefore the table was overcrowded and uncomfortable for us eating.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a bath so if you like a bath ask for a room with one

A group of us camping for the weekend came in here for food and beers after a day of mountain biking and running - one of us had competed in the 3 peaks fell race so we were all hungry and looking forward to a hearty dinner to accompany a great pint - of which they have an excellent selection on offer.

The food was a MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT. I would never recommend anyone to eat here. We waited almost an hour for our food and when it arrived they were small portions, cold and bland. It was also hugely overpriced - £11.00 - £15.00 for a main.

This is a tap house for the local Dent brewery and sells all of its ales , we sampled four last night and will sample the rest sometime during our stay nearby.Warm welcome and pub is dog friendly which is great for us , the Barman gave us a sampler for 1 beer which was nice .
Great atmosphere , food that was being served smelt very nice and looked lovely but we did not eat.our beers were uniformly excellent , the Aviator and rambau were our picks last night

Dent is a gorgeous little town , awesome countryside surrounds it and the town itself with its cobbled streets is just picture postcard gorgeous .
