Very good value for money. Friendly staff and excellent food. Good choice of beers from the local brewery. Would recommend to anyone looking for a proper pub! We had room 9 which had an amazing old gentlemen's wardrobe in it with the labels still on the drawers.

We were lured in here by the pub's cider and real ale awards and the visit was well worth while. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the cider superb. Toilets clean and pub warm. Will be visiting again soon.

Being on a DoE trip with 39 students staying in the George and Dragon was a real treat. Room 11 is warm and very well appointed. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with only one reservation and that is the food. Breakfast is fine. A great variety with the normal full English but my supper was frankly disgusting. Prawns with a Mediterranean sauce and rice. The prawns were over cooked and the sauce would be fine with pasta but was far too heavy for this dish and when I mentioned that the prawns were in editable the very young gum chewing waitress was totally disinterested. My colleagues were equally unimpressed with their meals so most probably we will stay here again and enjoy the rooms and super beers but not the food.

Room Tip: Room 11 is very good - large with an excellent shower and plenty of towels

Went to Dent with rambling club, with a pre booked meal at george and dragon.
Thought the area was stunning with lovely old buildings and cobbled streets, countryside very nice but as usual the weather, rained for most of day not the kind of day for getting camera out,.
Got back to coach after a long and wet walk, eager to get wet stuff off and get changed for a much needed pint.
Beer from dent brewery is the best i have had for a long time, must add waited quite a while to get served with just one pleasent barmaid serving.
All tables reserved for our party, food service not very well organized, vegeatables arrived after you had eaten half your meal, did not enjoy the food.
If i came back to the george and dragon it would be for a good pint of the local brew only.

My wife and I went to the George And Dragon for a meal while we were passing through Dent on the Dales Way. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the service was spot on. We both had a main course and dessert which were wonderful. I like my ales and there was plenty of choice from the local brewery, all of which were top notch. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for a meal or even just for a few drinks.

Five of us, walkers from t'other end of Yorkshire stayed three nights at the pub. The pub was placed right for walking the last section of Wainwright's 1938 Pennine Journey from Sedbergh to Settle.

The welcome was friendly from the landlord when we arrived and the many and varied staff were efficient, well trained and also friendly.

Food wise this is the best you will get in Dent, we all enjoyed our meals, yes it was a little pricey but we got a good deal on the 3 nights accommodation so overall, we didn't feel we were overcharged.

The beds were comfortable and the room was large. The whole place was kept clean and if I needed to stay in Dent I would use the G&D again.

If you need a local taxi, try Ladycabs who are based in Sedbergh. Good service and value.

The pub has their own car park across the way.

Enjoyed our one night stay in the George & Dragon, the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate in the pub on that night and enjoyed it, very tasty, The bed was comfortable, bedroom spacious and bathroom was clean. We had booked our room on laterooms and got a fantastic deal. We both had the English breakfast - locally sourced produce was used and you could really taste the difference -which we enjoyed and set us up for the day, would go back again
