This is our 3rd trip to dollys cottage for Christmas. The cottage has everything you could need including sky tv and dishwasher. The fire was all lit for us coming and the heating was on. There was milk in the fridge, a lovely cake, dorritos and fresh ground coffee which was a lovely touch and 2 minutes to the local pub "a must". The village of Dent is beautiful with its cobbled stones and church with amazing views from the living room and master bedroom. Christmas at home is just not the same and look forward to going again.

This fantastic cottage in the heart of Dent has everything for a perfect stay. The view over the fells from the lounge, master bedroom and garden is just wonderful and ever-changing with the light. The furnishing is to a very high standard and we could not have asked for more. It was lovely to have the multi-fuel burner in the lounge of an evening but even if it wasn't used the cottage was always warm and cosy. The bed in the master room was by far the most comfy we have ever slept in and our daughter tells us hers in the other room was too. The walks around Dent are stunning and although we visited friends in 'the lakes' we preferred the peace and quiet of Dent and Sedburgh by far. Very highly recommended.

“Cosy, warm, and perfect.”
Reviewed 29 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Thanks for a lovely stay in your cottage over Christmas. It was perfect, toasty warm with the stove on, and very comfortable. We're a little envious of whoever is there this week though - with all the crisp sunny weather that seemed to elude us...

We're thinking of coming again next year!

“Sheep Country”

Dolly's Cottage is a complete delight. It's warm and cosy with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. A real home from home, comfy sofas and beds, fully equipped and with a garden overlooking the dales. Dent is a bit like entering the 'Twilight Zone'.....you drive for miles along narrow roads, past fields, farms and sheep, lots of sheep! Suddenly you come to this tiny town, all old cottages with it's own community, post office, shop, cafés, school....oh and more sheep! There is a local artist and a factory making fantastic knitwear. Dent even has it's own brewery! All in all a thriving community, going about their working day, whilst you enjoy the luxury of sharing their town for a week or so. Plenty of places to visit in both The Lakes and The Dales and perfect for walkers and or just strollers.......

We thoroughly enjoyed our family (with our two teenage children and dog) holiday at Dolly's cottage in Dent. Dent is a well hidden gem in the beautiful country side of the Yorkshire Dales while being blessed with what you need, a friendly general store / post office, two pubs and two cafes. Cafes are both excellent and the warmth of the Sun Inn from both the locals and the real fire is a delight. Food is very good and keenly priced. Great choice of beers !!!
The cottage is very well equipped, the kitchen / diner being a great 'warm' hub of the cottage for us. The real fire in the lounge making evenings very cosy and comfortable. Views from the main bedroom are a great start to each day.
Dent is a 'working village' with all the surrounding farms which increases the interest while walking.
We would definitely return to Dolly's cottage.
