I returned from a week here recently and wasn't overly impressed. I felt the lodge was not particularly well kitted out not even a tea towel or hand towel provided by default. There are no real facilities apart from a WiFi "room" where the WiFi is extremely intermittent as is the ability to receive even terrestrial TV.

The shower was pretty pure with extremely low level of pressure which was disappointing considering the prices of these lodges.

There aren't any places to eat within reasonable walking distance so you will need to get in your car to drive to nearest pub.

Also I felt the owners were extremely tight even charging for electricity used on top of the high cost of the rental, I have never experienced that before. Also signs about not using too much water because the water was on a meter !!

I certainly won't be returning here in a hurry.

Sue T, Owner at Weybourne Forest Lodges, responded to this reviewResponded 14 October 2014

Whilst we do our best to look after our own customers, there are a number of lodges on the property that are privately owned. These are mainly used as second homes but several of them are let out part of the time. There are two lodges in particular which are let all year round by a well-known holiday company but they are privately owned and run. It is important for guests to realize that these privately owned properties are not part of our business and we have no responsibility for them or for their occupants. They also do not have access to our facilities which include the laundry, wifi room and parts of the property are not available to them. These facilities are for our own customers only unless we have an arrangement with the owner.

Weybourne forest lodges are the ideal place to stay if you simply want to unwind. The lodges are clean, comfortable and well equipped and are set in among the forest trees. You can walk for miles, see deer, squirrels, birds etc but no people. The sea is easily accessible as is the north norfolk railway line should you fancy a steam train journey. All this and a complimentary bottle of wine from the owners.
