Stayed a Saturday night here before visiting relatives in Kent. No cheap deals available as we only booked a few days before. Room was clean and comfortable - we were on floor 2 just above the smoking area and were concerned about noise/smell. Apart from the odd whiff of fag smoke before we went out to eat we were undisturbed and there was very little noise either.

Great shower in our room and we had everything we needed for an overnight stay.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic - they offer an "enhanced continental breakfast" which is basically, hot drinks, toast, rolls, cereal, juice and fruit with the addition of scrambled eggs and sausages. Which would have been fine but they were continually running out of things and people were standing around waiting for items to be replenished. At busy times they need to be a bit more organised.

Ok but if we stayed again would make sure we booked earlier to get a cheaper price.

Stayed at this hotel as it was near the venue for I wedding I went to. It's not value for money if you are a single guest reception staff were pleasant but breakfast was chaotic and the staff very unfriendly we had to ask for our table to be cleared when I asked 2 members of staff for rolls they never even came back to tell me they had run out I had to ask them again. Not a great breakfast experience

This is a perfectly decent, if unremarkable, hotel. Being a HIX it does everything you expect at a great price but to a far more consistent standard than most hotel chains.

I ate across the road at the "pub" attached to another hotel.

The architecture of the hotel is notable and it's sad that you could spend a week here and never realise you were next to a huge and historic air base (the "airport" has been closed for some time and it's something of a political hot potato!).

One criticism - the TVs use a feed system that limits the channels and chops off the sides to fit the old shape TVs. These have been phased out of most HIXs but they seem to remain here.

We arrived for an over night stay before our Ferry to Calais. The afternoon staff were pleasant and chatty, and provided us the keys to our clean room.

The building is not particularly attractive, that isn't helped by the endless fag butts & unclean glasses Around the entrance. Our room was right above this entrance and was very noise with people smoking and sitting out in the evening sun.

After a meal out we returned and everything fell apart...

Our room was 28• which is far too hot for us to sleep. We rang reception who sent out an engineer to fix the "air con". He said it was broken and offered us a fan, we accepted and opened the window to try and cool the room. The thundering motorway opposite and the heat were not the only thing to keep us up all night. The mattress can only be described as a child's Argos job. Lots of sideways movement and lumpy. When we left we asked to speak to a manager about our experience...

We were told the hotel has no "air con" by a very unfriendly face. She was uninterested and offered us no apology.

I have stayed at this chain many times and loved my stay in Birmingham and Manchester. This one is a must AVIOD!!!

The modern looking blue-lighted glassed tower pictured on the website didn’t prepare me for the attractive 1940’s low brick architecture of the main building. Seems this property was originally built to serve American airman based across the road on Manston aerodrome, later to be Kent International airport.

Front desk welcome was very friendly and efficient from a Chicago ex-pat. Our room was ideal on the 2nd floor…but note that reception at ground level is floor 1 because there is a floor 0 below.

The rooms are in a modern block, and newly built rooms with the usual amenities and easy maintenance shelving without doors and minimal storage.

The bathroom – or rather shower room -- had an ingenious door that swung to do duty as the WC door so one could use that in privacy while the other had access to shower and washbasin. However, the designers had been infected with the latest stupid fashion to have a glass wall panel by the door so that anyone putting on the light in the shower room at night lit up the bedroom.

Spacious breakfast and casual seating area and the usual excellent complimentary Express hot breakfast.

Rooms has fast free, and fuss-free, wireless internet and there is ample free parking.

The place is just off the A299 roundabout and the road signposted to Minster. You can see the hotel from the A299. Across the Minster road there is a petrol station with a well stocked Co-Op supermarket from where you can get everything from the morning papers to a take-away meal. There’s also a pub type restaurant attached to the Premier Inn, tho’ as that had such bad TA reviews we took the short walk into Minster to where there's a choice of places to dine.

You know what to expect with a HI Express and we got the reliability we expected. Beds are oh so comfortable, sleep qualityis just perfect, it was spotlessly clean,

I suppose I should add some criticisms (should I?). OK. The very cheap very thin plastic beaker in the bathroom split on first use and dribbled water down my front. Not really acceptable even when the room cost £60 on Friday night, and deffo not so funny when the room price doubled on Saturday. They really should have extended the footpath for a few metres more out of the hotel grounds to meet the public footpath, rather than force pedestrians to walk along the access road.

Room Tip: I'd go for the top floor, just one level up from reception andxthere's a lift

We stayed here before travelling to France the next day. Didn't arrive till 10pm but staff were friendly at check-in. Beds were comfy and the room was very clean. Free wi-fi available. Buffet breakfast included cooked breakfast and pastries which were very fresh. Only downside - they allow dogs and ones in the room opposite the children's room were very noisy in the morning. Would use again though.

My brother and I stayed here before catching an early morning ferry from Dover - only 30 mins away. Highly satisfactory in every way. Reception staff welcoming and informative - suggested an excellent Indian Restaurant just a couple of mins away in Minster town.

The room had everything to be expected.

I'll definitely stay there again
