It was a perfect place to be for a weekend as a family. We spent only one night and thank God for that. My boys spent the night in room 22 whereby some ghostly figure kept appearing through the wall, waving its arm on the wall and hanging before the TV. I was quite shocked of what my teenage boys had to go through that night .The younger boy is completely upset and worse still the following morning the ghost appeared again this time on the wall next to cupboard and like a whirlwind dissappeard through the wall.
I feel that the management should have informed us in advance of the ghost affaire and to find out if we were ready to take such rooms. We arrived early around 9am by eurotunnel so we had plenty of time to find accomodation elsewhere.

I stayed at the royal Norfolk hotel for only one night but wished it had been more! The bed was so comfortable I actually missed breakfast so I could stay in it for longer. The staff and the regulars were really friendly and the food at fat larrys (the restaurant attached) was excellent value for money.
I will definitely be back!

We booked a family room (double bed and bunk beds) to break the journey to and from France. Our room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for three adults and a toddler. The bathroom seemed recently decorated too.
There were no chairs but all of the beds were comfy and there was a wall mounted flat screen TV with freeview.
Our room almost had a sea view but there was a castle in the way.
We had breakfast on the return journey and they only charged for the adults as the little one only had a scrambled egg.
We didn't have an evening meal as the dining room seemed to be being refurbished and the bar was a bit busy to take a toddler in. But even though there was a lot going on downstairs our room was quiet.
This cost us 60% of what we could have paid at one of the big chains but its still only five minutes drive from Eurotunnel Terminal.

Folkestone boat owners club held the xmas dinner at this venue,as we live in north london we stayed overnight,The rooms are clean and comfortable,(wifey is quite fussy) the meal was second to none, the staff were very helpfull and freindly, bar prices are very reasonable and we found nothing was too much trouble for the lovely lady who showed us to our room, even the parrot was very tolerant. We will most deffinitley stay again ,breakfast was absolutely anything you wanted, and it is NOT pre cooked so there is a short wait in pleasant surroundings for it to be cooked, coffee, tea, orange juice ect was on the table almost instantly, all in all a superb weekend,

Room Tip: just ask at the desk

I stayed here recently.

The rooms are fine, the shower good, The bed comfortable.

Breakfasts were not particularly fast. I do wonder whether they had the "A" Team for breakfasts as I believe we were the only guests. The evening meal was very good. My colleagues who were drinking were happy with the wine and beers too.

The location of this hotel is excellent for a holiday given that the beach is a matter of yards (metres ?) away. There is some parking available but you need to hope that other drivers are considerate as it is a little limited. It is also an easy drive from the motorway network.

I did get a little disturbed on one night due to some loud drunks passing by.

The bar downstairs seemed quite well frequented. There was a group playing on the first night I was there. There is also an elderly dog, called Cara, who is as friendly and loveable as you could hope for. There are also some parrots who can be talkative during the day.
