“torturous night”
Reviewed 17 December 2012

We stayed at the Chelt.Park in early December 2012 and we were looking for an afternoon in the spa a good meal and a relaxing night away. We are reasonable people and we don`t complain, and even our initial disappointment of the dark, dated room which smelt of stale urine did not deter us from enjoying ourselves. The spa is better described as a small leisure centre with a few therapy rooms the staff were friendly enough but it lacked ambience. The meal in the restuarant was very good and the staff attentive. We got back to our room hoping for a relaxing night, however we had been located in a corridor or should I say a cattle market full of party goers. The function room was so close to us that the pounding music, which went on until 1am, became torturous, we politely complained three times and spoke with the duty manager at checkout he did apologise and agreed we should be compensated. However we have had no official apology or any attempt of compensattion, I therefore conclude our experience at Chelt. Park left us feeling traumatized and exhausted, not a luxury in sight.

“Good sized pool”
Reviewed 15 October 2012

The pool was a good size and warm! The only downside was that some people were just standing around in the pool talking which meant that it was difficult to swim a length without stopping. Parents with children also got in the way. It would be good to have a separate children's pool.

“Good Value”
Reviewed 14 October 2012

Entrance hall is nicely presented and reception staff are really helpful, I asked about buses into Cheltenham/book a taxi /beauty treatment info- all staff were friendly.
Breakfast there was a good selection and plenty of it. Our room was big and had a queen sized bed - lovely, rooms are a little dated (a bit early 90s I would say) although they are clean you can tell they have been well used. TV is out of the ark, we lost reception a few times (just the 5 channels too) we were quite a few minutes walk from reception (a little annoying when we first arrived as we needed two trips to the car - i dont travel light!) as others have reported the corridors go on forever (especially when you are wearing heels!) I should have used the advice given on here and tried to get a room in the main house (ours was in the annex)
We used the swimming pool and sauna/steam room again could do with a bit of a face lift but was perfectly fine to use. Gym looked well equipt but did not use. We ate in the pub at the front of the hotel was great for a quick bit of food loads of choice plus they do BOGOF on main meals - bargain!
Overall a good base for Cheltenham, good value we paid £150 for two nights inc breakfast

“Not the best spa”
Reviewed 3 October 2012

Dirty changing rooms. Times kept changing for our treatments. No robes and slippers even though should be included in spa break. Didn't tell us we needed a pound for the locker. Pathetic back, neck, shoulder massage. Facial poor. Left for 10 min for mask to sink in. I have had facials before and when a mask is left on they give you a head massage.
