Have not stayed here overnight but have had the Sunday lunch a couple of times. The homemade soup was lovely as was the beef with the huge Yorkshire pudding, could of done with a bit more gravy on the plate, but we asked for extra which was fine. Was a bit disappointed with my dessert as it said custard was homemade, but it wasn't as it didn't have any vanilla pods in it. But apart from that it was ok

This is one of the nicest hotels my wife and I have stopped in. The room was excellent. Good size, very large bed, well maintained. Hotel grounds are really peaceful. To finish this, the staff were really friendly.
Food was excellent as well.

We recently spent 2 nights at Whitworth Hall Hotel. We were upgraded to a lovely big room with a canopy bed and jacuzzi bath. Dinner on the first night was good, the Head Waiter was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on both days was excellent. Criticisms; no water in rooms, instant coffee on tray, bar service poor. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

We stayed on a KGB deal with was good value, would not have been happy to pay full price. However, the bed was very uncomfortable and neither the sheets nor the mattress cover fitted properly.

We ate in the Brasserie on our first night. Food was adequate. Drinks were a little pricey. No atmosphere and the music played in the background was so depressing. Shame because it is a lovely room with nice views.

Breakfast was served in the Library restaurant. The food was good and the waitress very pleasant. Again inappropriate music being played, very depressing.

We did have a walk round the grounds which are lovely but you are restricted as to where you are allowed to walk.

The hotel is undergoing much needed refurbishment.

lovebug, thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and I am very sorry that your quality of stay was not as it should have been.

I would be interested to investigate further your comments regarding the food as this is not the standard expected. If you could email me direct with further information on this I would appreciate it, liz@whitworthhall.co.uk.

We are currently reviewing all the beds in the hotel alongside guests comments and will be replacing where necessary. This alongside the investment to the internal areas, exterior and country park will improve the facilities and experience that we have to offer.

Had a lovely birthday afternoon tea on Easter Saturday. We were told when we booked that we would be able to have tea in the room overlooking the deer park but when we got there we were told there was a wedding on so we had to have it in the conservatory! Sandwiches and scones were nice but the cakes were dry. Pots of tea were plentiful.
