We recently got married at Highgate and I have nothing to say but great things about it. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite, and were always willing to go the extra mile. My room the night before the wedding was comfortable and clean, and the bridal suite was amazing! Little added touches around the venue made it very special not only for myself and my new husband, but also for our guests. Thank you to Sarah and the rest of the team who made sure everything ran so smoothly. Can't wait to get back to Highgate soon!

Room Tip: It's worth paying extra to stay in the main house if you want some added luxury and drama- thoug...

Highgate House has a wonderful set up when the sun is shining like it was during our visit, should you have continual rain then the story may be different?

From check in to checkl out our experience of Highgate House was a positive one, with only one blip at check out which was possibly my understanding of the Booking.com system, or just poor communication on Booking.com's part?

Once your there you will be glad you booked and didnt secumbe to the hotels in the town centre of Northampton? The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the Manor house offers glamour for a weeding backdrop and the restaurant offers top class food at top class prices, having said that, the bar menu which served up to 6pm is excellent value in nice surroundings.

The rooms are sizable but lack (In our case) the close attention required to be a top notch hotel, i.e. Batteries in the TV remote didi not work and the TV picture was awful and the TV tiny, however unlike most British Hotels they have followed the American lead and offered wall to wall WIFI which in this day and age is a mjor plus for the UK, both leisure and Business travellers alike.

Tea and Coffee is plentiful, and again unlike most British Hotels you get enough milk for two drinks! Having said that it still the watery skimmed milk that needs at least four pots in a coffee!

The Hotel is situated in rural Northamptonshire, which I have to say having travelled to Northampton for over thirty years to visit friends never knew existed! The area is beautiful and on the door step of the Battle site at Nasby, the lakes and just fifteen minutes drive from central Northampton.

Given the layouit of the hotel dont expect to wander down stairs to pool in you budgie snugglers and dressing gown as it is may be a walk across the car park for you? The rooms are laid out in seperate buildings around the complex and the court yard just behind reception.

Overall, a very enjoyable experience, excelent helpful and cheerful staff and a top notch breakfast to send us on our way, thanks for a wonderful stay!

Spent 3 nights here as part of the wedding held on Wednesday.Rooms are fine, comfy enough,T.V a bit small but very hot all the time. The pool room looks a bit grotty from outside and the shower in there was out of order but once in the pool was nice and warm.
The staff are really nice, very friendly and helpful, from the reception staff, the guys at the bar,the breakfast chap cooking our eggs and the very smiley man in a suit with glasses and a tan.
Food at all times was excellent.Breakfast choice and quality spot on.Snacks at the bar well presented with fresh salad, steak ciabatta with caramelised onion delicious. The wedding meal was superb, most delicious.tender and perfectly cooked beef.Coffee and tea station available all day and night which is very good and rare for this country.A very nice touch that there is a table with apples, sweets and bottled water for visitors to take out on their journey home.
Not quite perfect, but only needs a few tweaks here and there.A very enjoyable stay

We booked this hotel as a last minute one night getaway, so got it cheaper than if we had booked some time in advance. To be honest i would have been a bit disappointed if i had paid the full price for accomodation.
On the plus side: staff very friendly and helpful, the food at dinner was superb with excellent service. The same with breakfast the following morning.
On the minus side: the room was very basic with seemingly very thin dividing walls between us and our 'neighbours' and was in need of some TLC. Facilities need some investment to bring them up to standard.
Overall though not a bad place to stay for one night if booked late and getting a cheaper rate.

Room Tip: be prepared for lack of sleep due to thin walls

My husband and I stayed at Highgate over the long Easter weekend. We now live in Cornwall, but used to live in the area and were visiting Family and Friends to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary, so decided to base ourselves at Highgate.

It didn't dissapoint. We have fond memories of Highgate House as we were married there in May 2006. This trip was just as good. Staff were friendly and always available, room was lovely (it was a Superior room), food of a high standard and I really must mention the Chef who managed the breakfast service over the weekend who was amazing! He was chatty, professional and had a fantastic memory for guests and what they liked, nothing was too much trouble and he really is a credit to your team.

Thank you Highgate for a lovely weekend break, we will return again.

Room Tip: Go for a Superior Room or one in the mail house

The staff were always helpful and kind but Martina in Reception must be singled out for the attention to detail that she was able to offer us.
We stayed just one night - Easter Sunday - when we were able to get a generous deal as HH is essentially a conference centre. Our standard room was fine and the bed comfortable although there was a little noise from traffic. Our evening meal was unexceptional but breakfast the following morning was rather better than expected. Hot drinks available through the day was a bonus.
