We were married here in July 2011 and as a wedding venue it was perfect. We had a 'English country garden' in mind and that is exactly what we got. We were married in the main building which is old and quirky and when decorated with flowers just perfect. Our wedding breakfast was held in the sturdy large marquee in the beautiful garden. Drinks on the patio and lawns, children playing in the hidden gardens, perfect setting for photos, good service, good food, relaxed, beautiful and the best day of our lives.

It would be a real shame if this place closed down. It holds memories that are very dear to our hearts.

We had our wedding here, and came to book for our wedding anniversary couldn't believe it has closed down since April .
Very sad for such a beautiful venue and great food and service that we experienced.

I hope that it opens again in the future.

we are looking for a wedding venue and have been trying to contact the hotel with no luck.
Could a member of staff please state whether the hotel is still holding weddings as when we came to look around last year we thought this hotel was lovely.

We chose The Falcon as it was convenient for a trip we had to make. All the staff were charming and friendly right from the word go - the manager, kitchen/dining room staff, housekeeping staff. It was a Friday night and the hotel was full and had a big wedding on the Saturday but it felt as if we were being looked after all the time and everyone had time for us.
Our room was in the cottages beside the hotel and it was everything we needed, though a little on the cool side. I usually find noise from other guests annoying but did not notice anything disturbing at all.
We had not planned to eat in but we had seen nothing else in the vicinity and the cost of dinner looked reasonable and we were both very pleased with our meals - I had the best salad I have ever been served - and we were glad we had not stopped anywhere on route.
Overall it made for the ideal impromptu break and we both said we'd like to return some time.
I will definitely be recommending The Falcon.

from the moment we arrived we relaxed straight away-friendly staff, spacious room , beautiful surroundings. We sat and read books by the log fire, with a glass of beautiful wine in our hands whilst it was snowy outside.
Just 2 critisisms of the room was that it was quite dark, with only 1 bedside lamp and no light over the dressing table, and it was noisy in the night-strange scratching noises (not sure if there was a ghost in our end of the hotel-certainly could have been ! ( room 3)
A big plus point for the room-the bed was wonderfully comfortable.
Nothing to put us off though-would certainly book again, if the new management keep the same ambiance and not get greedy and overprice it once renovated.

Room Tip: the annexe rooms looked nice, but on a cold or wet day the last thing you want is to have to run dow...
