“Excellent stay! We will definitely return!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014

We couldn't fault anything during our stay at the hotel. From the moment we arrived and were met by the manager our experience was excellent. I have to say every single member of staff we met were incredibly helpful and the most polite I have experienced in a long while - other venues could learn a lot! Our waiter for the evening Adam deserves a special mention - nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed suite overlooking the little lake and fountain. Noise transfer in the room was non existent as far as we could tell. The beds were incredibly comfortable with a pillow menu (including lavender if you require it). We had a light lunch and both my friends and I couldn't fault the quality or presentation. The Spa and spa treatments were bliss - staff excellent again! We spent all day in the spa and then had dinner at the Brasserie. I believe the hotel deserves its Michelin recommendation - the food was delicious as was the presentation. The wine menu had a diverse selection and again we couldn't fault anything. Check out was efficient and friendly and we would definitely return again.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroomed suite overlooking the lake is lovely - spacious and room to move around in.

Had a wonderful 1 night stay over, myself and two friends as a special birthday treat from my lovely husband (LOADS of brownie points there then). I have visited before with my family several times when we've stayed in cottages so my expectations were high (which isn't usually a good thing is it - always build up for a fall) but my fears were alleviated as everything far exceeded my very high expectations. Arrived very early for 2pm check in but luggage spirited away, warm reception and manager got suite ready for us asap whilst we had coffee / drinks. Got so comfy in lounge, had early lunch which was superb.
Our suite was very spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated, lovely finishes and fittings. Nice extra touches like coffee/tea/milk/bottled water in mini fridge, lovely bathroom complementary toiletries, robes and slippers to use.
Immediately took ourselves off to the Spa which is a fantastic experience, followed by treatments, I went for s body scrub and massage. The therapists are SO professional and the best massages I've ever experienced. We dined in the Brasserie that evening and the food is just sublime! But despite the spa, treatments, suite and food being absolutely fantastic, the jewel in the crown is the service here, it's absolutely SPOT ON, friendly without being precocious; courteous and professional without being pretentious . We were made to feel very welcome, relaxed and valued. EVERY member of staff deserves a pat on the back. Well done. Cannot fault a thing. Cannot rave enough about the whole stay.

Room Tip: we had a 2 bed suite 1028 which was lovey, very quiet and nice view over the pond at the front, good...

On arrival all seemed well, sat at bar waiting for room then the hen party came in with a gaggle of gobs!! We get into the very nice room sort ourselves out and head to the spa for two hours of relaxation. Then 20min in yes you guessed it the hen party! Screaming shouting and generally being annoying and we've paid how much for this? ? Left Spa and headed to room for some peace. Meal in the evening was sub standard and not worth the fee either. All in all I'd have been more relaxed on a Lounger on the hard shoulder of the M6 at rush hour. As another couple said when we spoke in the lift "it's like a 18-30's holiday". I'm sure if your looking for a relaxing time there are more superior paces not too far away from here. We certainly will not return nor recommend this place to anyone. We feel robbed and cheated after the extortionate fees compared to what we got. Please avoid

Thank you for your feedback and for also posting your review. We apologise for some of our guests not abiding to our quiet policy during their time in the spa. I understand that our spa staff reacted quickly to resolve the situation at the time and no further comments were made that day. We wouldn’t knowingly accept hen parties and control numbers for any group bookings. I was pleased to hear on check out that you enjoyed your treatments and breakfast. Thank you again for your feedback.

I booked a 1 night spa break for my daughters 40th birthday treat. This was in a 2 bedded suite and included breakfast, dinner and access to the spa. The hotel is in a lovely quiet setting ( our suite overlooked the duck pond and fountain at the front) at the far end of the Ribby Hall complex. There were no negative points to the stay at all. The suite was very spacious, spotless, lovely decor and a bath/walkin shower room I could have happily spent hours in. However, the Spa beckoned and it was great! By the time we strolled our way through the Aqua Thermal Journey we all felt totally relaxed and chilled. All the staff were so friendly and from walking in to reception you felt special. I must applaud the hotel in the effect and time they invest in training as it definitely shows. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent and of high quality. The stay well exceeded our expectations with both my daughters insisting we book again !!

This was our second visit We had an overnight stay. The first day we experienced the spa journey and had a lovely meal in the evening. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating especially in the restaurant. The next day started with a first class breakfast followed by spa treatments, wonderful. We came away so relaxed and refreshed. The perfect place to unwind.

We had an overnight stay here when attending a wedding reception nearby, and we had booked via a very reasonably priced internet deal. The room was spacious with a large double bed, plenty of storage space and plenty of power sockets in addition to the usual things associated with a 4* hotel. There were a separate shower cubicle and a bath in the bathroom.
Breakfast was of high quality with many unusual choices at a buffet bar, plus many cooked options. There were quite a few waiters, all attentive (by no means over-attentive or intrusive) and friendly, as were all the staff we encountered.
We did not have time to use the spa facilities, which looked good.
Highly recommended.

Just returned from a fab overnight stay for a friends wedding. Couldn't believe suite when we entered, so much room with lovely sofa and bed so comfy! Breakfast this morning cooked to absolute perfection. Porter on last night 3rd August was ever so helpful when my wife awoke at 3.30 feeling unwell. Her attitude was superb and thoughtfulness a great credit to the Spa Hotel. All staff extremely courteous and smiling! Today we used the Spa at the hotel. I had the aqua thermal journey and my wife the ritual pedicure, both absolutely fabulous and we came away just feeling so chilled and relaxed. Once again staff present but in no way intrusive but very helpful when required. Couldn't fault. Just one thing, please please ask people to put slippers back on when going from one element to another in thermal journey...other than that just couldn't fault!!

Room Tip: We didn't but wish we had gone for a room with a balcony!

Thank for your review. Its lovely to hear that you both had a fabulous time, despite your wife feeling unwell - we hope that she is now feeling 100%. Your kind words regarding the staff at The SPA Hotel have been passed on and we sincerely hope to welcome you both back again in the very near future.
