“Wedding Day Bliss”
Reviewed 12 June 2010

We felt the least we could do after receiving such wonderful service was to let others know what a wonderful experience we'd had at Trehellas. We held our wedding reception there, so for 2 days the whole place was taken over by myself and my husband and our guests. The service provided started long before this with meetings with Debra the owner in which we sorted out all the details. She was excellent, she really knew her stuff and helped guide us through all the options, giving us lots of time to decide what we wanted. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble and she always made herself available to us to discuss any queries. When we arrived at the hotel on the friday everything was beautifully clean and all the guests could not praise their rooms highly enough. Although the swimming pool was not open when we arrived, it was no trouble at all to take the cover off for us to have a dip. Even though they had evening guests in, they were quite happy for us to set up our decorations for the next day. On the day of the wedding the brilliant service continued, myself and the bridesmaids had to leave early in the morning to have our hair done and an early breakfast was supplied.(although this was not cooked, there was an aray of cereals, nuts, fruit, yogurt, juice, teas and coffees and toast) When we arrived back from the church everything had been set up as we'd requested. The young waiting staff were very polite and professional and the meal was served with haste and was very tasty (so tasty in fact that my husband and I didnt eat any of the amazing evening buffet that was laid out, although again our guests commented on how fantastic the food was. Just to show the kind of people that run this hotel we were amazed to recieve a lot of money back at the end of our stay. We had agreed to pay for one drink for each guest in the evening, luckily our guests did not take advantage of this, but neither did the hotel. Also to ensure there was no wasted food at the end of the evening the hotel catered for less people and again as a consequence we recieved money back (this did not however mean people went hungry as a huge supply of food was still served!) On the Sunday morning we had a cooked breakfast which was yet again wonderful. We cannot fault anything about the hotel or the service, they really helped to make our special day even more special and I cannot reccomend them highly enough to people.

Had dinner at this hotel and found it evreything you want when eating out. My Wife and I both ordered fillet steak and it was cooked beautifully, served to us in what can only be described as a very relaxed dining area. The service was very good and attentive. An absolute must for people who want good food and good service. The only thing we felt to be missing in our view was a little music in the lounge area.

I had a lovely room with all mod cons, fantastic views in this beautiful building. the staff where brilliant and the food was fantastic. I spent my dyas visiting Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Michaels' Mount etc, all are within easy reach of here. the staff where very knowledgable and they even worked out the tide times for me to cross over to the Mount. Breakfast in the new conservatory was so lovely. I can't wait to go back for another visit.

Trehellas House is what eating out should be all about. Crisp white linen tablecloth and napkins. Flowers on the table, quality china, glass and cutley. Attentive service. Delicious food beautifully presented and hot. My visit at the weekend was my third and I was not dissappointed. I live just a 10-15 minute car trip away and am delighted to recommend this establishment. We joined visiting friends from Leicestershire for dinner and we had a lovely evening.

We spent 3 nights here on a quick winter break, and we couldn't have chosen anywhere better. Perfect location, beautifully peaceful, very friendly and efficient staff, and extremely good food. What more could one ask for? !!!

My partner and I have a fab few days on the recommendation of work collegues who loved the place too! We will certainly be back. We stayed on the Winter Warmer basis and were upgraded to the Padstow room which was newly refurbished and warm as toast and comfy. As the weekend was also Valentines we were able to choose our food from the Valentines menu. The chef is the best in the world! We eat out a lot and stay in a lot of hotels and we could not fault the hotel, the staff, owners or the food. We love Cornwall anyway so the location was ideal for us and very quiet which is what we like! We will be back and have already given out brochures and cards to friends!

We stayed in the Loswithel Room which is very nicely decorated but very cold. The hotel is located close to a busy road which can be heard clearly in the room. Although relatively small, noise from the corridor is heard easily through the door and we were woken at 3am with someone taking their dog out from one of the other rooms

The bed was described as a double, but was actually 2 singles pushed together, so was quite uncomfortable for a couple as you fell down the crack.

Service was fair considering there was only one young lady doing the reception and waitressing. Food was generally good, although I could have done with a steak knife to cut through the duck. Breakfast was good but was unfortunatley let down by the waitress clearing away the cereals etc... from the buffet before everyone had finished and without asking if anyone wanted any before she cleared away.
