Took my Mum & Dad here to celebrate a birthday. Went mainly for the surroundings on a nice Summer evening. Ordered a 3 course meal. Food was very good. We sat inside, upstairs. The only criticism is that I think they could have opened some more windows to let some air through. It was one of the hottest days of the year and it was even hotter where we sat!

However, the meal was good. We had a great evening and left very satisfied.

It's usually all about the garden area at Moor Mill, a Beefeater next to the Premier Inn, Bricketwood. Went for lunch last Thursday with my partner and had a very poor experience, most notably with the food - the 'ultimate' fish & chips (£11.29!) & a clearly bought in quiche (£9.95) both of which were very low quality & poor value.

In my experience Beefeater's have always been very hit & miss for food & at this particular one, it really is worth avoiding - drinks in the garden are usually about the only positive point but on this visit, the tables were left uncleared with plates & glasses piled up and garden menus & rubbish were just left to blow around on the floor with staff members just ignoring it (it wasn't busy) Not recommended, there are far better eateries & pubs in nearby Radlett.

We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening. Had to wait for some time for someone to to take us to our pre-booked table. On entering the restaurant was disappointed with the dark and shabby interior, peeling wallpaper, could be so much more welcoming. Was served reasonable quick by our waiter. The food was nice but not memorable! and was expensive compared to other restaurants locally. It has been 18 years since our last visit to this restaurant and cannot see us returning anytime soon.

We ate breakfast here for four days whilst staying at the adjoining Premier Inn.

For the first two days we did not book in advance for breakfast (why would you when the price is the same whether you pay in advance with Premier Inn or just turn up on the day?). On the second day, we were told that there were no tables (even though we only wanted to eat from the continental 'buffet') for 45 minutes. After negotiation with the waiter in charge we were invited to sit out on the terrace - fine on a beautiful sunny summers day but more of an insult when it's raining and the tables and chairs are all wet!

Having learned our lesson, the other days we booked in advance. Though we managed to get a table this did not detract from the lacklustre experience in most other areas. The cutlery appeared greasy, as did the tables. The carpet was stained, as was the fabric on many of the chairs. I had to go through four bowls next to the cereal one day before I found one without dried bits of food. They clearly couldn't cope with the volume of people, even though the only offerings for continental breakfast were cereal, toast (which frequently ran out), croissants and a few bowls of 'help yourself' fruit salad. Twice I had to wait for milk to be replaced before I could get my cereal and coffee - come on, basic stuff!

Overall appeared poorly organised, was what I would regard as the minimum standard for breakfast and really should have been cleaner. Had it not been right next to the Premier Inn we wouldn't have returned.

Can't comment on the lunch or dinner menus or service but the breakfast left us not wanting to find out about them!
