We've just returned from a 2 night break at the Ringwood Hall Hotel and we had a fantastic time. The Hotel is wonderful and the grounds are well maintained and overall it is a beautiful setting. We stayed in a room in the Bothy Lodge which is a building separate to the Hotel but only a very short walk to the Hotel's amenities. If you love the peace and quiet these rooms are ideal for you. We would give top marks for every aspect of the hotel. We had to amend the dates of our booking on a couple of occasions and the Hotel staff did this without any fuss and ensured that we could enjoy our break. The reception staff were brilliant and the bar staff and restaurant staff were also excellent and went over and above their call of duty to assist us and other hotel guests. The staff were all very polite and professional. The design and layout of our room was of a very high standard and was extremely clean and adequately stocked. We had 3 large windows to look out over a garden area which was much better than having one window in a long hotel corridor. There was plenty of parking spaces available and we had peace and quiet throughout our stay. This was our first trip to the Peak District and we will be returning and we will definitely be staying again at the Ringwood Hall Hotel. We would just like to thank all the staff for making our stay memorable and enjoyable.

Wow, thank you for your wonderful review following your weekend leisure break at Ringwood Hall. It was great to read and they are delightful comments.

I am not usually defensive, however, I would just like to refer readers back to a review that was placed on the site 4 weeks ago and is 10 reviews back. The reason I do that is quite simply because both reviews are about the same bedroom. Just goes to show how misleading and incorrect some guest reviews can be!

The Peak District is a fabulous destination for a short break and Ringwood Hall sits at the gateway, so make a call or check our website and see what kind of special rates we are offering for short breaks.

Thank you for your top marks of our facilities and service. Hope to see you again soon.

We have just celebrated our son's wedding at Ringwood and have to say that the event was an outstanding success, due in no small part to the excellent staff at Ringwood. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they were all responsive to any requirements which arose (without being asked) and they were unontrusive but very happy to be part of the event. Special mention to John the MC for his calm and unflustered handling of the day. This is a privately owned hotel and it shows in the non corporate way in which people are dealt with - hospitality is, after all, a people business. Most of us on Tripadvisor are not professional reviewers of the catering industry but we do appreciate feeling welcomed and looked after, something Ringwood achieves in spades. Our grateful thanks again.

What a fabulous review thank you. It was our pleasure to have the opportunity of hosting your son`s wedding at Ringwood Hall and it was lovely to read that it proved to be an outstanding success.

Like all MC`s at Ringwood, John takes great pride in looking after his couples and ensuring that his team on the day provide responsive and unobtrusive friendly professional service. It is gratifying that you have endorsed this with your wonderful review.

We are indeed able to enjoy the benefit of private ownership, which goes a great deal towards being able to achieve a more personable approach in everything that we do.

Huge thanks for saying such lovely things about Ringwood Hall.

Thank you for a delightful review following your weekend away with us. It made wonderful reading.

Great advice to future clients to select a Gardeners Cottage room. With their under floor heating in the bathroom and their cosy ambiance, they do represent a perfect room selection for guests who wish to be away from the hotel and in a more private and secluded place.

They do require a walk up to the main hotel to use the facilities, but if the weather is wet brollies are provided.

Delighted that you found everything to exceed your expectations and hope you continue to recommend us to all your family and friends.

We stopped over for one night for a wedding reception. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated in a small village in nice grounds and is lovely inside. The stairs in the hall are quite grand!

Our room was at the far end of the hotel and was a good size and clean. My wife had a few gripes about the mirror positions and lighting. Basically she couldn't see to put her makeup on! To cap it all the hairdrier couldn't be plugged in near a mirror and it kept cutting out as it got too hot.

I was happy watching the large flatscreen TV whilst my wife was getting worked up :-)

One down side, if you want to use the leisure facilities then you have to walk outside, there is no covered access.

Breakfast was good with a large variety of food to choos from except for bread, there were no rolls or anything like that, just sliced stuff.

Would I stay here again? Yes I would, not so sure about my wife unless she brings along her own mirror and hairdrier ;-)

Oh, and drinks at the bar were a bit pricey!

Room Tip: Room 129 is split level (two steps after the bathroom down to the bed area) which might not be suita...

Plusses - location, grounds, building, bedroom (even if radiator didn't work), food quality, but most of all the attitude and friendliness of the staff - the spa

Minuses - breakfast times disorganised (10 minute wait for fried eggs whilst the rest went cold) - Sunday morning breakfast chaotic - no side plates on any of the tables we dined at - very very slow toaster - tea and coffee from flasks

Overall - hope my comments are seen to be constructive as we would like to go again

Thank you for your review which overall read well.

Delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and that in particular our friendly, helpful and engaging staff made your stay memorable and comfortable.

You will be delighted to know that we have a new "all singing, all dancing" toaster !! Sorry if you experienced slow service on the busy breakfast. On our busy breakfast mornings we do tend to find everyone comes down at the last minute and it can be quite hectic. We have a note in our guest bedrooms advising that a more pleasant and less rushed experience is achieved by coming down around 9.15am rather more than 9.45am.

Constructive feedback is always appreciated and we hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you back as you suggest. Thank you.

We had our civil ceremony and celebrations at Ringwood Hall.

The day was fantastic, all the staff were friendly and helpful, in particular John (the MC) was great his help and guidance was instrumental in ensuring our big day went without a glitch.

The hotel and grounds are really well kept, the gardens made for some cracking photos.

All of the food was great, we had an evening meal in the restaurant on Friday evening which was good, breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the wedding breakfast food was also very good and served quickly.

There were several local companies recommended by Ringwood, for table dressing etc who again where excellent.

The rooms are very nice, we were upgraded on our wedding night to the 'Renishaw Suite' which was very plush.

Thanks again to all the staff @ Ringwood hall, a great day had by all.

I recently stayed at the Ringwood Hotel through a Kgb deal. It was fantastic value! The hotel was very pleasant, clean, warm with friendly staff. The room was a good size with a flatscreen TV on the wall and coffee and tea making facilities. The bathroom was a good size with a bath and overhead shower. The pool and spa facilities were an added bonus and very clean. The food was very nice too though not a huge choice for vegetarians. Would definitely recommend.

We always appreciate the phrase "fantastic value".

Your overall evaluation of our facilities is delightful and we thank you for your comments.

We look forward to welcoming you back we hope on a future occasion, and whilst the KGB deal is unlikely to be available as we generally only do it in January, February and early March, do check the accommodation pages on our website as we offer some very special deals direct to clients.
