“Our wedding -5th April 2014”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Myself and my husband would like to thank Ringwood Hall for our amazing wedding day in April!

From the moment we were shown around we absolutely fell in love! On the day everything was run so smoothly by our master of ceremonies Linden. Linden thank you for everything you did on the day, you made sure any niggles were sorted out straight away and everything ran perfectly, you are a credit to the hotel! We would also like to thank Leanne. Leanne was amazing and helped all day and night with my dress and looking after me (even taking my buffet food to the table for me!)

A lot of our guests have commented on how good the food was and I have to agree it was just amazing. Portion sizes were great and it was hot and tasted lovely. We would recommend anyone who is thinking about getting married here to book it now! You will not regret it. We will remember our day forever and thank you so much for making it so special for us!

Wow, fabulous review thank you, following your spring wedding with us.

Delighted that your wedding day was so special and that everything ran perfectly from the beginning to the end.

As I have said previously we are blessed with the team at Ringwood, all of whom are committed to providing excellent customer service but in a friendly, attentive and caring way.

Its a delight that you have singled out Lindsay and Lindon, both of whom have asked me to thank you for all your lovely words. They are genuinely interested in people as individuals, and enjoy looking after guests at all times.

Delighted also that you enjoyed the quality of the food presented to you on your wedding day, and thank you so much for your superb recommendation that your day was a special as it was.

We hope that you return and visit us at some point in the future, not least on your first anniversary and on behalf of all of the team wish you both a long, happy, healthy married life together.

We stayed at this hotel as it had a swimming pool and was close to Chesterfield. The room we were in (401) was lovely, with a kithenette and excellent wi fi and flatscreen, along with cooker, utensils etc. The toilet fittings were excellent. The pool was quite large and allowed for some good lengths. The setting is excellent and the nearby Hollingwood pub was ok (not brilliant!) for dinner.

However, the room had wooden floors. We were downstairs and unfortunately there was a couple upstairs who decided to walk around all night which kept us up. We even tried earplugs to no avail. This really let the place down as we got no sleep.

On their website, they had advertised a meal deal for £14 for 2 courses, a real bargain. When I phoned in advance to book this, I was told this was a mistake and they took it down off the website when I was on the phone to them. No "thanks for asking, we've realised its an old advert, but we'll honour the deal", so I didn't want to eat there in the evening because of that. Just "No, the deal isn't on anymore".

Room Tip: Don't get room 401 unless you have poor hearing!

An interesting review, thank you.

A delightful description of our apartments which are very nicely appointed and well equipped. You were unlucky to be disturbed by guests in the apartment above you. Sometimes it`s difficult to legislate for the antisocial behaviour of some people unfortunately !

The special offer that you were not able to take up in the restaurant had in fact expired, however it would not have been available as you were already taking advantage of a very special accommodation rate and they were in fact, mutually exclusive.

Delighted that you found the setting to be so charming and our Parklands Health & Fitness Club to be so inviting. I hope that on balance the better aspects of your stay with us will encourage you to return.

Thank you for your review and delighted that you enjoyed your stay, and found all the facilities to be well presented and clean.

Oops, sorry that you missed breakfast but delighted that it was because of our comfortable bed you slept in. Knowing how accommodating the staff are I am sure if you had mentioned it to reception, they would have at least organised a bacon butty for you to have enjoyed before setting off for home.

Delighted too that you found the staff to be helpful. That`s typically something that we read in almost every review that we receive.

Appreciating that you visited on a special wedding guest rate, we hope that you will be keen to return in the future to enjoy maybe a leisure break. Watch our website for details of special offers that we offer throughout the seasons.

We look forward to welcoming you back.

Just got back and thought I could not wait to post this review.
What a stunning Hotel and Grounds! Staff friendly attentive and always polite and helpful. Food fantastic and room (in cottage Annexe) very good.
The hotel has well kept grounds and is great for sitting outside and having a breath of fresh air in tranquil surrounding's.

Room Tip: Even though you go through a maze of corridors to get to the cottage Annexe overlooking the Gardens...

Well, what more could we ask for to be called "wedding venue of the year" is just amazing. Your review is fabulous and describes exactly what we aim to achieve, friendly, attentive, polite and helpful professional service with fantastic food all set in a stunning location. Thank you for confirming that.

Good advice to guests to discuss your room requirements carefully when making your reservation as we do have a wide array of styles of room, some which are more accessible than others and some which enjoy a more peaceful setting than others.

We try to make it tempting for guests attending weddings to stay by offering a competitive reduced rate which includes a full English buffet style breakfast, onsite secure parking and the use of our extensive Parklands Health & Fitness Club facilities.

Once again thanks again for the fabulous review.

We got married here on 13/04/14 and had the most amazing experience. The staff at Ringwood were fantastic from start to finish and really made us feel like we were the only wedding they'd ever had there. We were lucky enough to get married outside which really made our wedding day extra special and we had Lindon as our Master of Ceremonies. I cannot praise Lindon enough, he made sure everything ran smoothly which he made look completely effortless and nothing was ever too much trouble, he was absolutely fantastic. The hotel itself is beautiful and thanks to its beautiful grounds we have some excellent wedding photos to look back on. I would absolutely recommend Ringwood to anyone who is thinking of getting married in the area.

Wow! What an amazing review, thank you.

Your recommendation is absolutely wonderful and your description of your wedding day a delight to read.

It was a pleasure to be able to provide the opportunity for your ceremony to take place in our lovely back garden at the outside Garden Pavilion.

Lyndon and his team thoroughly enjoyed looking after you both on the day, and thank you for your lovely comments.

Taking advantage of our spring wedding package when the gardens are in full spring bloom will have provided many photographic opportunities and we hope to see these with you at some point.

We wish you all the very best for the future and hope that you keep in touch with us.

I have stayed at many such hotels in England using Groupon/KGB vouchers. This is one of, if not the, best.

We always take our dog on breaks with us and were allocated a dog friendly room in a small annex near the entrance. It was a great size, an incredible large & comfy bed and plentiful quantity of tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

The bathroom was very modern and clean.

The hotel grounds were great to walk around to get lost in on a Sunday morning due to the many little paths. It was situated right next to a large park as well.

Breakfast was the buffet variety with a huge choice or warm and cold items and tea and coffee served quickly by attentive staff.

The maids were lovely and chatty.

The reception staff were efficient and polite.

I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

(No extra charge for the dog either!)

What a fantastic review thank you.

Delighted to read that you had such a great time when you stayed with us and that you enjoyed all the facilities along with the quality of the food and the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff.

We welcome well behaved dogs of all shapes and sizes recognising that in some families they are a major part of the family. As have such an extensive garden and parklands and sit adjacent to a country park it seems entirely sensible for dogs to be welcome !!

Delighted that you had such a wonderful time and that you highly recommend us and we look forward to welcoming you back at some point in the future.

Wedding on the 8th March 2014

What can we say! From the moment we went to the first open day we fell for this venue and its staff! Ringwood are 100% behind you when it comes to planning your wedding with them. It’s the only venue we went to where we were asked what we wanted to do and not how we could be crowbarred into a very standard wedding package like we had at some other venues. They have so many options and I can truly say our day was tailor made to what we as a couple wanted.

The venue is stunning, we had so many comments from our guests at how beautiful the venue was and how much space there was. We had some wonderful photos taken in the grounds and it was great to find a venue both beautiful on the inside and the out! The grounds are immaculate and the rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious. We stayed in room 121 as our honeymoon suite and would highly recommend it for something extra special: it is beautifully decorated and the bath tub was fantastic! We used the Ringwood suite for our wedding ceremony and our receptions for the day and evening and it looked beautiful. There was ample space for our 70 day guests and a 30 piece concert band in the wedding ceremony; it proved to be a very versatile space and the turnarounds were done with very little disruption. The food was delicious and everyone loved our afternoon tea and evening hog roast! We were all amazed at how much food we got and it really was fantastic food; it was worth every penny that we paid for it!

The staff; we cannot thank them enough for their time and help in creating the most amazing day. All the staff have been so friendly and supportive through the whole process, they really have made the whole thing so easy and they have been a pleasure to work with. The wedding team have been so helpful and we both felt very comfortable working with them to create our special day. The actual wedding day itself went ahead without a single problem or issue and John and his team of staff on the day were amazing at ensuring the day went without a hitch. Every single staff member we met were helpful and we truly cannot thank them enough for all their help.

If you're planning a wedding in South Yorkshire - this is THE place!

Room Tip: 121 is a perfect honeymoon suite 222 and 134 are both modern in decor and very comfortable and cle...

Wow, what an amazing review!!

It was an absolute pleasure looking after you both on your wedding day and to see all your fabulous ideas come together to provide a wedding day full of fun and happy memories.

We are blessed with the facilities that we have at Ringwood Hall, both in terms of the versatility of our banqueting suites and the extent of our beautiful gardens and parklands, providing great opportunities for couples to utilise to their full advantage.

Like many venues we do have packages designed to accommodate couples who are working to budgets and to add value wherever possible but, I am pleased to say, as you clearly identify, we are able to adapt these or indeed provide bespoke proposals for couples who have their own ideas for their special day.

Sometimes older couples prefer a more informal approach to their day as you did, and the provision of an afternoon tea as the wedding breakfast, and then a super hog feast buffet for the evening just worked so well. Delighted that you found the perfect "recipe" for your special day.

Your fabulous description of our venue is hugely appreciated and your generous praise about the quality and quantity of the food is acknowledged with grateful thanks.

And once again, special mention is made of the team at Ringwood who individually and collectively work as a team to provide just the right balance of professionalism and friendliness to deliver caring and attentive service.

The wedding team and John, as your MC, along with the rest of the team at Ringwood Hall join to wish you a very happy and healthy married life together, and we look forward to seeing you on your first wedding anniversary which I understand has already been organised.
