From the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff were so attentive and nothing is to much trouble.A Rolls Royce was dispatched to pick up the groom and best men there were two! as the bride and bridesmaids had stayed the night before the wedding. the service was wonderful my daughter had always wanted a Christmas wedding and the hotel was dressed beautifully it was just a fairy tale from start to finish.most of the guests stayed the night and the rooms are so warm and comfortable and breakfast was really superb.A special mention to Steff and Becky who made sure everything went without a hitch on the day. What a place the Bride and Groom picked

Hillbark Hotel really is a hidden gem in Royden Park on the Wirral.
We have been here - as a married couple, for romantic weekend breaks on 3 occasions and each time, the experience has been faultless.
The rooms are all unique & so luxurious you don't want to leave.
The food is simply delicious and the wine selection available, is probably the best you will find anywhere.
All the staff are wonderful and very helpful (nothing is too much trouble).
It's like staying in a stately home!

Stayed here for two nights in December 2014, as my best friend was getting married there. I knew from the moment we pulled up that it was something special - the venue is beyond stunning, especially for a Christmas wedding. I was expecting good service (I'd made my reservation quite far in advance, and all the communication I'd had with the Hillbark had been lovely), and they went above and beyond. Everyone was so warm and welcoming - and GENUINE. The rooms were lovely (I was in Godiva on the first night, Lucille on the second), and have possibly the comfiest beds I have ever encountered in a hotel. Best mattresses and duvets ever!!
On the morning of the wedding nothing seemed like too much trouble - we had breafast sent up and countless pots of tea (I drink a lot of tea, but there are no tea and coffee facilities in the room, instead call room service and they'll send it right up, lovely touch).
The wedding itself was wonderful, HUGE THANKS to Rebecca and Steph. Cockatil hour was great, it's such a lovely place. Food was great - I'd be happy with that in any restaurant, hard to believe they had catered for nearly 60!!
Breakfast was great, cooked to order (though I did ask for some Worcestershire sauce which never materialised).
Honestly I could keep going on about how great this place is - but treat yourself and go experience it first hand!! Thanks again to the whole team, hopefully we'll see you again in the new year.

A great pleasure to meet Craig, Sarah and the wedding coordination team with my daughters fiancé Mat last week. Craig the managing director made Mat and myself feel very special, explaining each of the packages thoroughly and clearly finding out what was most important from our point of view. And even talking us out of a more expensive package that we previously had in mind, very genuine and straight forward giving us lots of confidence in everything. He emphasised to make the wedding special you should think of it as a journey and its Hilbarks pleasure to be with you every step of the way for the big day. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone there. This was my second visit, I had previously been with Mats mother and my daughter(Allie, who has been twice with Mat and once with her mother) and not once have we been put under pressure and always made to feel welcome. Sarah has been excellent in all her dealings with our family in the last month and has been very patient in her understanding.
Can understand other peoples Excellent reviews on location, views, décor and all the other splendid aspects at Hilbark.

Fantastic hotel with beautiful grounds and very pleasant helpful staff. Hotel definitely has the wow factor. Our stay here was made extra special with family members, children were catered for with a little play area in the grounds. Rooms were spacious and warm, we had interconnecting rooms with a play station on the wall which was an extra bonus for my two boys. All in all we had a lovely stay and would love to stay again another time.

Went for Sunday lunch only to be seated in a freezing cold room,no atmosphere what so ever,and only us.The server was a lovely pleasant man but everything he brought was wrong.We had to pre order our meal and we had to have exactly the same starter main and sweet as each other.The whole experience was dreadful and a complete waste of money we came out so dissatisfied and disappointed never again appalling for a 5 star!!

Room Tip: Sorry we did not stay just had lunch but cannot get the above ratings to change so ignore

The concept of our Contessa Sunday Roast is to replicate the homely, family feel of a typical family roast with all of the hassle taken away, hence why we offer an alternative menu with slightly less choice. Alongside our Contessa Sunday Roast menu, we do offer our Hillbark Grill menu which has lots of choice and options which you don’t need to pre order for.

We apologise for any inconvenience on the day, after looking into this we have found there was miscommunication between reservations and kitchen in the lead up and can only assure you that this will not reoccur.

We do hope you can come again to try our Hillbark Grill menu.

This really is a lovely hotel with very nice staff, but we stayed Saturday night and our stay was spoiled having to complain about our Suite being cold, the lounge being cold and the dining room being cold. As nice as the staff were, they did not appreciate that the heating was a problem and seemed to assume that as it was an old house, that 'old houses are cold' We were sent up 2x portable heaters to heat up our suite, but this is not the hassle we were hoping for. The hotel is idylic, and I have no doubt that it is a wonderful Wedding venue in the summer, but at the moment it is not geared up for a cosy winter's stay. Make sure you take your Jumpers!!

It is unfortunate that your stay was affected by the cold and we apologise, we do have fires going throughout winter which warm up the building, however the cold weather has just come upon us and the heating throughout the hotel does take a while to circulate through such a large building.
