We had hired this place to celebrate my sister's hen weekend and it was a fantastic choice in terms of surroundings and location. Would highly recommend for large groups.
The location is right on the Thames so lovely views. We were two families with teenage children so needed all the rooms. The two double rooms upstairs had a small double in each but very tight. The down stairs double rooms were a lot larger but one room still had only a small double which we found very uncomfortable as myself and husband are quite tall so struggled with the small double bed. (also no wardrobes) There are chickens in the gardens which are allowed to roam around, so we had to be careful where we stepped so not to tread in anything!. The owner offered to enclose them but we were out most days so didnt use the garden. There is also an area for the eco-garden. There is a galley kitchen which is very well supplied but only had a dishwasher for 4 settings, also the freezer was not used as it needed a good defrost. The house is quite large with lots of old / antique furniture and ornaments. The location is great but for the amount we paid, we were expecting luxury but the accommodation is more simplicity and basic.
Great venue for a family gathering.Peter , the gardener was very helpful.Accomodation suited us as it was homely as opposed to pristine and with two children and a dog as well as 8 adults we could relax without worrying about damaging any priceless antiques. The two downstairs bedrooms were expansive and comfortable. The bedrooms upstairs cosy but adequate . The kitchen was very well equipped too.
It was great to have kayaks at our disposal as well as a fire pit which we all loved..especially the children who toasted marshmallows on Saturday evening. BBQ's were available too and we had a dozen fresh eggs from the chickens on site left for us which was appreciated. The owner although travelling, was very helpful and answered my numerous questions promptly.
we are a family of 7 from Houston Texas. We took the kids and grandkids to England for 3 weeks so they could experience a foreign culture, When our 13-year old granddaughter say the view from the dining room, she stated "She did not want to ever leave".
Our grandson fished a lot. Our granddaughter fed the ducks, geese, and swans (including baby swans). A fox came into the yard one night. For us from the US, it was an adventure driving on the narrow country roads. It was within walking distance of a train station we took to Waterloo station
It slept 7 of us without any problems
Spent a weekend at Chateau Gato with some girlfriends and had a wonderful time. The photos on the website do not do it justice. It has a beautiful riverside location and is so relaxing. Also has good facilities and was immaculately clean. Annie who let us into the property and handled the booking was very friendly and helpful.
The only thing to mention would be that the owner sometimes stays on a boat moored next to the house.

We had a fantastic time at the Chateau. I booked the house for our small office team retreat and we couldn't have picked a better location. The house was modern, spacious and had everything we needed.
The large table in the side room off the living room was ideal for our large group and the views of the river were an ideal backdrop.
Ainne was extremely friendly and accommodating and answered all of our questions in advance making the whole experience a pleasant breeze. We will certainly will be coming back next year and I cannot recontamination the Chateau highly enough.
We traveled from Switzerland to meet family coming from Dorset to celebrate a 70th birthday and chose the location as it was close to Heathrow and a few hours travel for all of us. It is a wonderful house in an exceptional location. We were lucky to have great weather and so were able to enjoy the garden and riverside as well as the house. We tried out the local foodie pub The George which did not disappoint and also enjoyed seeing Windsor Castle. Annie was very responsive during the booking process and while we stayed.
