“Yummy food in a friendly atmosphere”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 via mobile

Went for early lunch on a Saturday after hearing good reviews about the(newish) landlord and his team. Menu and drinks selection is good and landlord and staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Food itself is of very high quality and good value....loved their take on the ham, eggs and chips!
Weren't disappointed at all and will be returning in the future

“Great food and service”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We arrived five minutes before the kitchen shut and rather than turn us away the landlord (Lee) went out of his way to be welcoming and we went on to have a three course meal... It pays to be flexible and do this sort of thing as we will certainly return again and again. The food has always been excellent when we have been and they have well kept ales and excellent wines. It can be a little quite some days but I think as more people discover the pub it will get more popular especially as the team organise regular events and once you have found this tucked away pub you will want to return. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

“Very nice”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Very clean and light interior. Cosy settees round the fireplace which in winter would be lovely. Very nice gardens and beautiful flower baskets outside. The landlord was extremely friendly and waited on our table as they were not busy as it was early evening. Food a bit limited and geared to the adults - no children's menu that we could see, but then maybe there is one for couples with children. Interesting things on menu that you would not normally find in pubs, e.g. venison, mussels, deep friend poached eggs. Very nicely presented and cooked and the desserts were also very good - try the pear sorbet which is very nice indeed. We shall go again and try something else on the menu. Its a bit off the beaten track which is a shame - we are local and know its there but anyone passing on the main road from Reading to Basingstoke would not know of its existence. That said, its in a lovely place and well worth visiting.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 23 June 2014 via mobile

We attended a Christening here on sunday for some 70 people. We have been twice before, once for a drink and once for Sunday lunch. Its a great location for us but sadly has been very quiet when we attended previously which as a consiquence affects the ambiance of the place. However, Sunday with 70 guests, loads of kids and a bouncy castle made it great fun. The buffet was good and varied and the kichen bought out extra food at the end when supplies got a little low.

In my personal opinion there is a need for a little more attention to detail in certain areas, however having said that it deserves a chance to become a great pub/restuarant and looking at recent reviews I am sure it is well on its way to acheiving this. Well done The Falcon Team.

ITS DEFINATELY WORTH A VISIT.
