We visited the Rising Sun at about 7.30pm on a Friday evening. We hadn't booked but were seated immediately. It was busy but didn't feel cramped or overcrowded and you could hear yourself talk above the background noise. There were 4 adults in our party, age ranging from 68 to 19 and the pub/restuarant made us all feel at home. Lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Menu choice was good, and the specials board was outstanding. Between us we had a vegetarian pasta dish, haddock fishcakes, faggots and cottage pie. All meals were of a very high quality and extremely tasty. The meals are reasonably priced and portion sizes are more than ample. Service was excellent, staff are friendly but not pushy. All in all, an excellent meal supported by good service and a relaxed atmosphere. Look forward to our next visit.
