We recently stayed at Harvest House from the 10th to 15th June. Apart from the weather, which was not particularly good everything about our stay was great. Our room (Keyhaven) was very spacious with views over the Solent towards the IOW. Our hosts, Amanda and John, couldn't have been more helpful - very knowledgeable about the New Forest and surrounding areas. Only about 5 mins. walk into the village centre, located around a village green. Three good pubs and a wine bar, also there are several good restaurants, Indian, Thai, French and a couple of others as well. Shingle beach half mile stroll from village green - then some lovely coastal walks either way. Lymington is only about 3 miles away, very nice shopping along the High Street, with lots of 'independent' shops.
The accommodation was first rate and couldn't be faulted, that together with the excellent choices at breakfast made our stay there very enjoyable. John told us about the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive in the midst of the New Forest and although we got soaked on our worst day we did see many ponies and a fallow deer with it's young one!
Finally the little treats that appeared in our room on our return late afternoon were most welcome.

Room Tip: Keyhaven was very good, spacious and airy.

It is always a pleasure to stay with Amanda and Jon, wonderful hosts. This is our third visit and we have stayed in all three rooms and we can say all are of a top standard you can't be disappointed with Harvest House. If you're not six foot four then the attic room is a must with the small private lounge off the bedroom. With this room you can imagine you're the only ones there a very relaxing room. The other two have there own charm with great views across the magnificent garden to the Isle of Wight.

There is always a warm welcome and something new, this time it was the live pictures from the bird box.

Breakfast is always special, the food is sumptuous and the company enthralling! As usual there was the little special touches of wine on arrival and fruits when we returned later in the day, better than being at home.

With our next visit we plan to take the ferry from Keyhaven to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Should that not be the case Amanda and Jon are never short of ideas of what to do in the newest National Park.

We came back to Harvest House after a first visit in 2012. It was like meeting old friends. Amanda and Jon are full of taste and generosity and their home is a little heaven for people and animals. It is a peaceful and extremely comfortable place with excellent breakfast made with local products, the perfect choice to enjoy the New Forest or visit the Isle of Wight. The atmosphere, the 3 rooms and the gardens are simply fantastic !

We booked 2 nights at Harvest House after reading the reviews and were not disappointed! Amanda and Jon are very welcoming with tea on arrival (most welcome) and we also had tea/coffee/hot choc plus cookies in the room if wanted. Stayed in the Keyhaven room which has very comfortable beds - twins put together to make one huge bed with crisp white clean linen (I suffer with hip pain and found I was able to sleep soundly). Shower is fab - powerful if wanted and supremely hot due to the solar panels efficiently heating the water. Very comfortable room and just what we needed for our short stay to attend a friend's wedding in Milford.

I must mention 'Bob' their placid friendly lurcher who is such a lovely dog, and for any bird enthusiasts plenty of birds to see in the huge gardens - there is even a camera in the nesting box for guests to watch the latest fledgelings on the tv in the lounge! Look out for 'Henry' the regular pheasant visitor.

We thought it would be too far to walk to the hotel on the front for the wedding, but not far at all - in fact all down hill, through the village and gentle slope up which took only 10 mins, so an ideal location to stay and visit Milford on Sea. Glad to have discovered Milford, and will definitely visit again - would not hesitate to recommend the Harvest House, great value for money.

Room Tip: Only noise heard at night was a friendly owl - bliss!! Any room would be good I guess, but only saw...

We had the most wonderful weekend at Harvest House with Amanda and Jon. With our first baby due in the next three weeks, my husband and I wanted a quiet break and Harvest House was the perfect place. Set close to the gorgeous New Forest, we felt totally spoilt, it's all the little touches that make a huge difference from hot water bottles in the bed and welcoming wine (elderflower for baby). Amanda and Jon advised on all the best places to visit and eat and Jon kindly showed his classic cars selection (my husband was in heaven!) We really could not have asked for more. The standard of rooms is fantastic and my husband said it was the best breakfast he had ever had. Definitely did not want to leave!

Room Tip: Keyhaven - the super kingsize bed was perfect!

Have just spent a winter weekend with Amanda and Jon. Wonderful house and welcome - it's like staying with old friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we will certainly return - hopefully in the summer months to take advantage of their wonderful garden. Smashing short break!

Room Tip: Keyhaven with wonderful 6' bed!
