Shorefield Country Park
Reviewed 23 July 2010

We enjoyed a glorious week at Shorefield. We found the site and lodge clean and comfortable (well the sofa was a bit hard and upright). The pools were both very clean and the fact that we had beautiful weather meant that we could make the most of the outdoors one.
My only complaint would be the food in the bar. We went over for a drink and something for my 5 year old and I have to say it was appalling. We didn't eat there again which was a shame as it would have been nice to have been able to eat and drink and not have to drive anywhere.
In saying that the pub at the top of the road was fab and the food was delicious.
I would recommend Shorefield to anyone wishing to visit this part of the country.

Spent a week at shorefields with my partner, 5 year old daughter and my mam. When we first arrived we were greeted by a friendly lady on reception, which is always a good start:O) When we first entered the lodge we were a little disapointed thinking it needed a little updating but to be honest it was perfectly fine. The cleanliness was very good, bedding, bathrooms etc very clean. The only little critism's would be firstly the washer had a very foisty smell (probable doesn't get used much), secondly the sofa was very uncomfortable (very minor problem) and thirdly no towels supplied so emergency trip to asda for some cheap smart price one:O)... The Site itself was beautiful, the grassy areas really well kept, both the indoor and outdoor swimming pools are beautifully clean. The on site supermarket is well stocked for essentials (quite expensive like). and the cheers bar serves a lovely chilled pint (or 6:O). Although the food in threre left a lot to be desired! overall though a fabulous place to stay while checking out the wonderful New Forest and surrounding area's... If you have kids go to Paultons Theme park.. Fab! I

Just had a week's holiday, great location and very clean park. Facilities excellent.
Plenty of shop's and supermarkets within easy driving distance, Lymington lovely place.
Milford on sea a lot quieter that say Mudeford beach, everything you what fantastic walks, park minutes from coast.
We did stay back in October half term , this time the place was over run with dogs, not all running around not on leads but the lodge we stayed in, next door two yapping dogs and next on again three large dogs which never shut up.
If you like dogs, no problem if not be warned, it put us off going back.

Stayed at Shorefields for a long weekend, in a Milford Chalet (pine cabin type bungalow).
Setting was lovely - we were in the Amberwood area of the site - and there was plenty of room between the chalets. Having walked round the site though, the caravans are pretty much piled on top of each other - you definitely get more space the more you pay, (each type of accommodation is priced differently).
Didn't use the facilites, but there are indoor and outdoor pools, bistro, bar, shop, laundry etc etc. Park is absolutely huge - we were about a ten minute walk from reception.
The Chalet itself was very comfortable if not luxurious, (with the exception of the mattress!). All on one level, living room with proper kitchen area, bathroom, two bedrooms. Kitchen well equipped with gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, washing machine (think some have dishwasher instead), kettle, toaster, cafetiere etc. Living room had dining table and chairs, 2 x two seater sofa, coffee tables. Bathroom had basin, loo and shower over 3/4 bath. One double and one twin bedroom with built in wardrobes/shelves. Also outside decking area accessed from living room french doors with patio furniture, enclosed by low fence. The chalet was "pet friendly" but there were no tell tale smells or scratches to say any pets had been in there.
Fully heated by wall heaters (plus gas fire in living room) and no extra charges for electric/gas/water.
It was pretty empty when we were there, but I would imagine its hectic in summer.
Seafront is only a mile or two away, hour at most to the centre of Southampton, easy access to all the popular New Forest locations.

My family and I have just returned from Shorefield Park. We hired a caravan from my dad's mate at work. It was a four berth and was a bit of a squeeze for 5 of us, but fine for what we wanted and a bargain at 100 pounds for the week.

What made the Park for me was the location and amazing facilities. We visited the New Forest, walked along the beach front, visited Christchurch. Bournemouth isn't far and it's a quick sail over to the Isle of Wight. We walked into Milford on see from the site one day - about a 45 minute walk through the forest.

There is a great pool. We took our 4 month old swimming for the first time and she loved it! The steam room, sauna and spa pool are all included in the join up fee. I think it's 40 pounds for family of four for the week. We used the bar often.

The bad news is that the site is crammed full of static caravans. There is not much privacy and i should think in the summer is truly hideous. Still, in October during the week it was really quiet. Oh, and there's no site wide WiFi which was really annoying.
