“Lovely surroundings in an Idylic part of England.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

Visited here whilst on holiday, we had a quick snacks and a drink. Lovely staff, very friendly people. My daughter had a milkshake which she said was one of the best she has had. Would love to stay here, looks pure luxury. The view from this place is amazing and on a hot day you could be in paradise.

“" A Perfect Spot For A Lazy Lunch"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

Visited here for lunch with family for lunch on a sunny day in June. No option other than to sit in a small area outside as we had our dog with us. But, that was fine as it was nice & sunny.
We ordered drinks ( alcoholic ) & food 2xburgers, risotto & an open crab sandwich. All were great & a special well done for the chips really crispy but soft in the middle.
It was also good value as our total bill was approx £50.
Would visit again & definitely recommend.

“Mainly disorganised and confused”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

Having wanted to try here for a while we stopped off having popped to the area to view the boats in the annual RTI race. Be ready to pay for parking - last time we were in the area (ok so it was a while ago) this car park was free - how about a refund for customers...its not a NFDC carpark!.
We were going to have a full breakfast but seeing the confusion and stroppy matron in charge who was struggling to understand the till we settled for bacon & sausage sarnies and tea. The more elderly members of staff were struggling but the young lads had it under control especially the one who kept the coffee machine churning out one coffee after another. Sarnies were ok, my bacon appeared to be slightly smoked which the menu didn't state (I don't like smoked bacon) and for two pots of tea you need more than a thimble full of milk. Help yourself to cutlery, condiments and napkins. They charge restaurant prices but behave like a badly run greasy spoon. We overheard many groups of customers complaining that they had to carry their own drinks and chairs(!) up to the roof terrace. The crowning glory was when the fire alarm went off. They continued serving like nothing had happened, customers came, and ordered and went...no evacuation and no apology. After about 10/15 minutes someone switched it off - never did find out if there actually was a fire.
I had always wanted to try this place for a more formal meal for a special occasion - I dont think I'll bother.

“Good find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

We found this restaurant whilst out & about, It's at the bottom of a dead end but don't let that put you off. Even though there was a wedding reception in the bar on the night we visited this did not stop the service being excellent. Food is great and we were lucky enough to have a table by the window to enjoy the stunning views of the Isle of Wight.

“overall average experience but ok.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

My wife, baby and I called in for lunch having ben attracted to the building design, location and the information on the website. First of all you need to pay to park which wasn't ideal. Then the route to the lift was blocked by boxes and having finally got in we couldn't get it to work. Someone did eventually help us when they spotted us trying to carry the buggy up the steep steps. The interior once we got there was modern but with a café rather than a restaurant ambience and having sat down no-one bothered to bring menus despite the place being quite empty. The menu was quite basic, but when we did eventually get to order the waiter was friendly and the food was fairly good. In fairness they are still recovering from the winter storms and unfortunately it shows. Maybe it will get better but we won't be going again to find out.
