Taken over by a husband and wife team in the middle of last year Braxton Gardens has been rejuvenated. There are three elements to the site. Gardens - have been enthusiastically renovated to the highest horticultural standards. New shrubs planted where necessary with considerable artistry and all wonderfully maintained. Nurseries - supply at very reasonable cost, the highest quality shrubs and perennials. Tea room - the terrace has been enclosed for use all year, great care is taken over the decor resulting in a relaxing ambience. Home cooked food (cakes soup etc) innovative and delicious. Today for example the fruit loaf was infused with black pepper - sounds odd but worked really well. Previous treats have been banana cake with the addition of chilli and lavender muffins. I thoroughly recommend a visit even if you only walk round the gardens which is free, but don't miss out on the comestibles or the horticulture - you're in for a treat whatever.

Have been stopping for coffee and a cake Braxton Gardens for some years and seen it go downhill until we almost gave up visiting. Thank goodness we didnt. Having been refused a hot pannini from the menu at 2.10pm in the hopeless restaurant at Everton garden centre because they didnt serve hot food after 2.00pm we decided to try Braxton one last time as it was nearby.
What a nice surprise.
The gardens are now fabulous and the new owners delightful. Now apparently open all year round with a large enclosed conservatory style area and an imminent woodburning stove Braxton is now an ideal place to stop for a snack in lovely surroundings at anytime of the year.
Even our big dog was made very welcome with a bowl of water and a couple of dog biscuits so he didnt have to stay in a the car
Thankyou Braxton, the brie cranberry and rocket sandwiches were lovely.

Under new management and worth a visit to have a cuppa and a cake. Looks if it is on the up again and should be visited for lunch or afternoon tea.
