Vinegar Hill Pottery B & B

After reading reviews on here we chose this place and staying in Rosie, the gypsie caravan for a special occasion. The reviews were all glowing that we read but we left disappointed with the level of service and price we paid.
We arrived and was met by a nice lady who explained the family was away. She showed us to where we were staying. Rosie is lovely and very comfortable. When we left that evening for a meal we realised we had no key for Rosie or the B&B so had to leave through the families garden. Breakfast was very nice though we had brown bread which my husband doesn't like so we request white bread for the next day. We also would have liked a pot of tea!
We then didn't see anyone until 8pm the following evening when we had to ask for more tea bags as no one had restocked and we were desperate for a cup if tea. It turned out the owners were on holiday and they got back it that time hence why we had seen no one. Lovely breakfast next day but still brown bread, she came out half way through and offered us white but a but late - and still no pot if tea.
The couple running the place were lovely and polite and can't fault there manner but I felt that after the problem we had we should have been offered a reduced rate. If it had been a hotel we would have complained like mad but a bit difficult in someone's house.

We stayed for a couple of nights in the garden room. My husband did a one day pottery course and I took our 2.5 yr old to the beach where he enjoyed playing with the shingle and a brief paddle. Dave and Lucy were very friendly and accommodating as were their children who let our son join them to feed the chickens and investigate the toys in their garden. Our room was great for a family - bedroom, bathroom and living room so plenty of space for our toddler to play and for us to stay up once without dimming the lights and whispering once he'd gone to bed. Husband enjoyed the pottery course and we left with a few things from the gallery (take your cheque book, there are some lovely things!)

My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend and had a fantastic time. As an escape from London city life - Vinegar Hill was perfect for us! The owners are amazing , super friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Hayloft room which was clean, spacious, airy and comfortable. We loved the independence to come and go as we felt, but also feeling very welcome to ask the owners for any help or guidance if needed. They were very kind to lend us a couple of bikes to go exploring also, which was great fun to do! Breakfast is delicious and a definite highlight is being able to have breakfast in the room.

I would definitely stay again and would also consider coming back with the family or friends to stay in the Garden Room.

Myself and my husband stayed in Rosie, the lovely gypsy wagon, this past weekend and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Rosie is really well equipped with everything you need and the bed is incredibly comfy and cosy. If you fancy an escape from reality for a night or two, Rosie is definitely for you.
The B&B is a short walk from Milford-on-Sea and the beach. The location is superb as it is incredibly quiet. The only noise we heard was from the birds which was lovely.
Breakfast both mornings was really lovely, with personal touches such as plates and mugs made by David in the pottery. Fresh milk and juice were delivered each morning either by Lucy or David which was another lovely touch.
We have returned home completely refreshed and relaxed and we would like to thank Lucy and David for allowing us to stay at this amazing place!

We stayed for 3 days in The Hayloft. Its a beautiful, light, big room with a comfortable en suite next door. Its difficult to praise the owners too much. Full of enthusiasm David helped us with our throwing pots on wheels. And we were set up for this with a lovely full English in the morning. This place is out of the ordinary, I cannot recommend it too highly. You wont regret coming here!

Room Tip: We liked the Hayloft room, but it is up a circular iron staircase so no good for those with mobility...

Stayed 2 nights in the Hayloft at the Vinegar Hill Pottery, a quirky & comfortable room up a spiral staircase. Beautifully furnished en-suite which had everything we needed. Breakfast brought to our room at a set time in the morning. David & Lucy are welcoming & attentive hosts, would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: The Hayloft is up a spiral staircase, this may make it difficult for some people to access.

I have been meaning to write this review for ages, but the selfish part of me didn't want to share this wonderful place! I went with my cousin and our 2 daughters last October half-term. My daughter and had the en-suite Hayloft and my cousin and her daughter had the Garden room that comes with the breakfast/TV room. Dave cooked us lovely breakfasts each morning and was very flexible catering for veggies and omnivores. We had a brilliant 3 night stay; New Milford is a real foodie place with a great choice of restaurants and pubs to choose from. We will be hopefully going back this year and I am planning to do a pottery course with Dave. Soreh, Brighton, UK.

Room Tip: Both the Hayloft and the Garden room were lovely with Dave's ceramic sinks in the bathrooms. If...
