My friends and I chanced upon this restaurant; they managed to fit us in without a prior booking and we were made to feel so welcome. The manager and waiting staff were charming and let us stay late without making us feel that we ought to leave. The food was lovely - not a huge menu but everything was imaginative and well cooked. A really great relaxed setting to go with old school friends and make new memories......

We visited here on our last leg of a trip around various restaurants in Milford by bus. We were a party of 12 , 6 couples, all strangers to one another. The Dining Bus is something that alot of the restaurants, the Raft included, participates in as a scheme. Its an excellent concept.
The decor of the Raft is good, very coastal/shabby chic. Theres a large table for parties which sat us all comfortably. The service by the manager/owner was welcoming, friendly, efficient, courteous and amusing. He is a bit of a look alike for Kevin Rowland of Dexys Midnight Runners too!
We were eating our dessert here and we were served a shot glass of Kaluha with coffee bean accompaniment. A nice touch. Then we had a trio of desserts- Ginger cheescake;Choc Brownie and Rhubarb cooked in champagne with a natural yoghurt drizzled over it.
It was a lovely end to our bus ride around 4 restuarants in the village and proves that Milford is a remarkable haven for culinary talent.

Firstly, this restaurant is NOT in Lymington it is in Milford on sea ! We had a very enjoyable evening here . The menu was varied ranging from sea food to posh burgers and pizza all home made . Presented with a lot of thought and attention to detail. The service was attentive and friendly although a wait between courses which was fine for us as we had time to natter, but I could foresee that some would think too slow . There were two of us and we were seated by the bar and specials board which involved people constantly standing beside us to examine the board which was a little of putting . Next time I will request not to be seated at that table .
An enjoyable evening overall and look forward to our return soon.
