Food here is amazingly good value. clean pleasant surroundings, and charming hosts. Locals are friendly and welcoming, and the pub is set in an idylic little town, just a few minutes walk from the beach, where you have lovely views of the Isle of Wight.

Nice people and they have made it lighter and nicer inside. But the menu is for us a little unappetising. We went twice and both times we struggled to find something we wanted. Even the baguette fillings were uninspiring. My son-in-law went with friends a few weeks ago and they actually left for the same reason and went to a pizza place in Lymington instead as they said they could find nothing they wanted. Also no credit cards being accepted at the moment although I think they are working on that. Lovely sunny garden. The White Horse in Miflord used to be good pub food until it changed hands but then went down hill. The Smugglers is also less good now. So if the Red Lion could just up its game a bit it would do really well.

Went with my wife and two children. The meals were a littel small in proportion but my chicken currywas very nice just didnt` understand why the rice portion was a cup full.Staff great and very pleasant. There were specials on a board which wasn1t really pointed out until the end of the meal which was a shame.

I have used this pub quite a few times over the years. The previous landlord who had ran the pub for many years always ran a tight ship and his ales were in fine form. Due to personal reasons he had to give up the pub and for the last year or so of his time here you could see the granule decline of customer numbers. We first visited The Red Lion again last year when the new tenants had only just taken on the pub so for that visit it was not fair to judge the pub on that visit. On this visit we could clearly see that the pub had started to gain its customer base again as there were a few tables having lunch plus we over herd that the pub which does B&B had no vacancies so a good sign. One evening we happened to be passing the pub and the place was packed which was very nice to see.

Made two visits whilst staying in Milford - once just for a drink and we were made to feel very welcome including our Dog who was given a treat by the landlord! Our second visit was for our last evening meal and this was excellent (haddock and bacon burger) we even managed to squeeze in a pudding!! Great food very busy and good luck to the new owners you deserve to succeed!!
