Lovely cottage - just right for the two of us and 2 dogs. Ideal location for exploring the New Forest and great amenities in Milford on Sea. The only thing that wasn't clear is there is no door between rooms downstairs and upstairs. As dogs aren't allowed upstairs it would be handy to have a stair gate or something similar that could be put up. We really enjoyed our stay.
We were delighted with our four night stay at Plover Cottage.
Cute, warm, and cosy. The Cottage's fittings, furniture and utilities have been done to a very high standard. The beds, linen and storage is place is more than enough for a week stay.
We bought essentials such as: toilet paper, tea bags, coffee etc... as it is a self catering cottage. Otherwise the cottage was fully equipped with every other utensil and gadget you need.
Also, the owners had kindly provided a filing system on things to do, local attractions, takeaways etc... and free local carpark badge which we found very useful. Moreover they provided free interest, DVDs, books and games which were also very much enjoyed.
The outside garden is all that you need. Especially considering you are literally a few doors down from the town. Plus, most importantly you have off road parking for one car.
Milford on Sea:
-The town was lovely, lots of local shops such as CoOp, if you needed a larger store Waitrose is a short ride out.
-Fish n chips are one of the best we had
-Cider wash room bar was a favourite of ours
-local crabbing and ice cream
-Indian take away
-The Hurst castle trip via the local ferry was a must (great cake there, but no baby changing facilities).
- Smugglers in, literally down the road, great food and park area
Will be definitely coming back to Milford on Sea and will be definitely be staying at Plover Cottage - Thank you very much for our lovely experience!
The cottage was so cute - it was small but not squashy, it was just cosy which was lovely. The water felt amazing and the cottage had lots of supplies. The location was beautiful; Milford on Sea is right across from the Isle of Wight and you have a great view of the Isle, Needles, and the rest of the coast. Hurst Castle is a long stony walk but worth it for fantastic views and a bit of history. Mr Pinks Fish & Chips is a must - it was a little busy but we were told we had a fifteen minute wait and it only took about five minutes. I'd definitely recommend Plover Cottage.
Lovely warm cosy cottage.spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need. Just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Milford.
This is a lovely cottage,we had a great time when me and my wife stayed for a short break. Its very central to the town and has all the amenities. We will definitely be staying again in the near future.
Very relaxing few days, fully equipped and cosy cottage in a lovely area, loads to do. Would stay again
We had a brilliant stay at Plover Cottage over Christmas. Spotlessly clean, with all the mod cons. Idyllic location for some great dog walks. Never used the car, great food pubs all within walking distance. Would absolutely recommend Plover Cottage.
