Stayed two nights on an all inclusive basis, could not fault the Hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable and the spa facilities were fine, perhaps the changing rooms could be upgraded. The breakfasts were excellent and the evening meals were adequate for the price.

Liverpool is within easy reach, Hooton rail Station is approx 1 mile away and a day return ticket via the Mersey Ferry is £4.80 well worth the effort! We would stay there again.

We were bought a buy-a-gift voucher for a two night hotel stay with breakfast and chose this hotel. The staff were really lovely and the rooms were a really decent size. We had no problem with the heating someone mentioned previously and found the heater worked perfectly. The breakfast was really tasty and set us up for the whole day. We made the most of using the swimming pool and although it wasn't huge was warm and clean. Location wise, there isn't a great deal immediately around the hotel but it is well placed for trips out to chester and Liverpool. I'm not sure we would pay the advertised rack rate to stay here but for what we paid we had a brilliant stay.

The hotel is ideally located for visiting Liverpool, Chester and North Wales. The double room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast and evening meal were well prepared and fairly priced. The evening meal was good but did not produce what was on the tin/menu. The smooth Patti was rough and we had to return it for a second choice. There were no flat mushrooms or tomato to accompany the beefburger and the hand cut chips were french fries. We also asked for Ceaser Salad without Anchovies but they still arrived with the salad and again this had to be returned. Having said this the duty manager was excellent and listened to our complaint and sorted it out very quickly which was to her credit.

My wife & I and a couple of friends stayed here for a very cheap weekend in November 2012. The incredibly cheap rate included breakfast and honestly for the money there was nothing to complain about. The staff especially were great and they gave us good advice on local pubs, restaurants & travel (to Liverpool by train).

Would definitely stay here again on a bargain rate but wouldn't choose over other local hotels such as the Macdonald Craxton Wood if the price wasn't significantly cheaper. Downsides to the Mercure are the lack of air con in the bedrooms and the lack of natural light in the restaurant.

Lovely clean hotel nice service nice room nice food Spent a lovely weekend there last week Room and bathroom very clean and fresh. Excellent food and service in restaurant All members of staff very helpful and friendly. If I had to pick one think to change, it would be the constant showing of sky sports 2 in the bar lounge, Well worth a visit and at £100 each all inclusive for two nights excellent value for money

Booked double room on day of arrival through Accor web site chose this hotel as they had double room available. Shortly after booking the hotel telephoned to say they only had twin room available - blaming "head office" for not updating web site. Offer of "free cancellation" was rejected as we needed a room for the night. (Was finally given free breakfast as compensation after little negotiation.)
Room was clean, looked like door had been kicked in with damage round lock only poorly repaired, temperature control valve head had been removed from radiator so I just turned the radiator off completely using isolating valve at other end (as usual room overheated anyway). Room noisy from some fan near by so used ear plugs for good nights sleep on comfortable bed. I got the impression that this was the room they use only when full.
WiFi reception not available in room and TV reception on some channels poor.
Restaurant food generally acceptable except main course vegetable which was bubble and squeak using recycled vegetables under posh name. When I asked for a wine list I was asked "Why - are you paying for your own dinner?". It seems that those on inclusive rate only get option of house wine as we were not on this package I was finally allowed to see wine list and had good bottle of wine at reasonable price. Apart from wine waiter the staff were friendly and efficient.

We recently stay here for 3 nights visiting family and catching up with friends. We were greeted at reception by a friendly face and were checked in swiftly. The room was of good size and bathroom modern, tea/coffee facilities in room and a nice comfy mattress and room was cleaned everyday by a nice young lady. We ate in the restaurant that evening as we were tired; we ordered belly pork which went down a treat and my husband had steak which was cooked to his liking. Breakfast was buffet style and was lovely, the service in the hotel was excellent, nothing was to much trouble and all the staff were friendly. Will be back soon.
