“A Hotel to look out for”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2013

My wife and I stayed at here for a couple of days (12 & 13 May '13).
The hotel has just been taken over by new proprietors, some two to three weeks previously, and they are on a mission to endeavor to improve on an already high standard.
The staff & management were all extremely friendly and helpful, our room was generally of a very good standard, as was the food.
We had a couple of wee niggley complaints which the management were at pains to address and rectify.
We look forward to revisiting this hotel when next in the area.

Hello Bill,

Thanks for your review of the Black Bull.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and thanks for pointing out the small maintenance issues in your room. We took over on 24th April and are always making improvements- so your insight really helped.

We will pass your comments onto Stephen (our chef working during your stay). He relishes on all feedback about his food (see what we did there?!).

Its good to hear our hard work is paying off and we would love to welcome you and Norma back again.

Best Wishes,

Steven and Kerrie

My husband and I stayed on 4/5/13 for the night which was all round fantastic from start to finish. We were welcomed at reception by the hotel manager, checked in and shown to our room. The food at dinner was amazing and quick coming out once ordered. The manager went out her way to make me up a cocktail that was not on the menu, alcohol prices were good also. There was live music on the night with bar staff getting up singing also, the atmosphere was brilliant and friendly! Would highly recommend this hotel

Hello Carriet1985,

Thanks for your review!

The 4th May was fab with the live music in the bar- we are glad you enjoyed it- we did to. Also great to hear you loved the food and cocktail made for you. Cocktails are not on the menu but will be very soon.

It was great having you and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Best Wishes,

Steven and Kerrie

I understand this hotel has just been taken over by a young couple recently. I was impressed by their whole attitude and their eagerness to please. The hotel is being done up and I'm sure it will soon be getting talked about by travellers. Very clean. tidy, homely with very good food and friendly bar staff.
