“Great stay”
Reviewed 22 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

The house is perfect for a family get together. We were 3 generations and their dogs. Very comfortable and although open plan, very cosy in the evenings. (Steven had obviously organised a week of fantastic weather but we couldn't leave without lighting the fire at least once). Fairly well equipped although an over the bath shower would be handy. When we arrived, we did wonder as the previous visitors had obviously had a great party and hadn't taken their empties to the bottle bank down the road. Once inside, the house was very clean and welcoming. (ditch the loo brushes though).

An abundance of information on the surrounding area was very useful and helped us plan a few outings.
Lots of walking in the area without having to get into the car and a very easy walk to the distillery also places for a coffee. Great position for exploring further afield too, north, south, east and west. We were all delighted to see red squirrels on our travels and a bit closer to home, Capercaillie and deer.

We stayed at this beautiful family house in March 2016 with friends, young children & two small dogs, this house was fully functional with everything you would need for our holiday get way, lovely peaceful area with beautiful views of the mountains. Breathtaking walks & lots of lovely wild life to see. 15/20 min drive to the nearest town for restaurants & food shop. Would recommend you bring your food shop with you & then nip into the local village for fresh bread from the deli. Will be staying again in Nov & would highly recommend.

“Good place with friendly owner”
Reviewed 11 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Good place, everyone enjoyed the stay.
Quite easy access to nearby places.
All necessary things were in the cottage.
Few issues to highlight is - only one shower though there is a tub but it does not help much. Some more tidiness would be better. Iron to press clothes should be there.

Heating got broken but the owner made temporary arrangements.

“Beautiful cottage, everything you need and more!!!!”
Reviewed 19 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The cottage is beautifully furnished inside, very cosy and warm, disappointed we didn't use the fire as we had amazing weather. The cottage has everything you need, to make it a really special stay. it is also very central for day visits, such as Cairngroms Wildlife Park and Landmark in Aviemore which we visited. We will definitely go back for longer stay next time as so peaceful and relaxing.

“Great spacious house in a calm en beautiful environment”
Reviewed 2 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We travelled with 4 friends to Dalwhinnie (and surrounding Highlands) and stayed 3 nights in the house. The info provided by Steve was very clear (road to the house, keys, general info).
It's a big house with a very nice patio full of light, with a fireplace (very nice in those cold evenings). The kitchen is very well equiped, the beds are comfy, the rooms are big, lots of storage place. Very nice place to start exploring the highlands.

“Wish I Could Live Here”
Reviewed 2 April 2015 for a stay in February 2015

This was the first time that I had ever rented a cottage like this. We were visiting this area of Scotland to go Skiing/Snowboarding at the Cairngorm Ski Resort. When we arrived we were absolutely blown away by how perfect this cottage was. It was clean, modern, and had all the amenities that you could wish for! We like the cottage so much that we even tried to stay an extra day. The location of Ericht is absolutely superb, it's roughly 40 minutes from town. The town has everything that you need, grocery store, restaurants, ski shops, etc. The owner, Mr. Steven, was the epitome of professionalism, respectfulness, and courteousness - he was always willing to help us whenever we needed it and was also very keen on hearing how much we loved the cottage. If it were up to me I would love to live here, that's how amazing it was. I honestly can't think of a single negative thing about this property. Location - 5* Affordability 5* Experience 5* Upkeep 5* Cleanliness 5* Seriously consider this property if you are travelling to this location and you won't be disappointed.

Liked best: Fireplace
Liked least: As stated in the review there wasn't anything that I didn't like the least that was the responsibility of the owner. The only issue was a lack of spices in the kitchen for food but that shouldn't be something that the owner should have to supply
