Tranquility Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 3 Aultbea B&B and Inns

My husband and me we had a great time in B&B “Tranquility” which is on a wonderful location in Aultbea, Westerross.
The rooms are lovely with comfortable beds, great food and Pauline and Phil are quite wonderful hosts, they knew a lot about the area and treat you like family and you don’t want to leave.
You can visit Ullapool with the nice shops, Gairloch with his little harbour and when you are lucky you can see seals, in Aultbea there is a wonderful perfume studio with his shop.
We also have walked on the beach in Mellon Uldrigle and Gruinard Bay.
This is all in the neighbourhood of Aultbea.
We will come back to this place because it is worth going back again to this lovely B&B.

We were 4 french people – 2 couples - visiting Scotland for the first time. When thinking of our 12 day autotour visiting this beautiful country last June, Tranquility B&B – where we stayed one night - remains as one of the best memories of hospitality we brought back from Scotland.
Pauline and Phil Bond, our hosts, are those kind of persons who are really full of attentions and devoted to their guests. Warm welcome at the very first minute when we arrived, a simple but very confortable lodging, with plenty of details to feel at home, a wonderful view over the loch and Lewis Island, and this typical Wes Ross countryside where we feel being so far from everything.
When booking, we asked for a dinner at Tranquility, and Pauline sent us a menu to prepare the special meal we would prefer. We choosed a three course dinner which we thought very typical of this area, with a home made soup, a salmon pie and a cheese cake, and all we had was tasty, really delicious, served very friendly by our hosts : we had a chat with both of them, in the end, and were with them as if we had been friends for ages.
Next morning we had this very scottish and delicious full breakfast we were fond of, and told Phill and Pauline how impressed we were of the quality of their cooking, wondering how to make this lovely home made soup. Before the end of our breakfast, Maryvonne was given a hand written recipe of the dish !
No doubt, if we have to visit Highlands again in the next years, our programme will include an other stay in Tranquility. And we’ll recommend this B&B to all our friends intending to visit West Highlands.

My girlfriend and me we stayed at Tranquility Bed and Breakfast for four nights in July 2009.
Our hosts Phil and Pauline gave us a warm welcome and a feeling that we felt ourselves at home. We had a nice and clean big room with a fantastic view from our window.
Every morning our breakfast was always something to looking forward to it. So delicious
and plenty of choice. Even the evening dinners were from TOP quality and very fresh, you will have definally no regret if you decide to have your evening meal over here.
The location is brilliant if you want to go out for walking or mountain-biking, there are plenty of things to see in this area like Inverewe gardens(amazing) , or the bunkers in Cove with a breathtaking view over the North Atlantic Ocean and Loch Ewe, sometimes you can spot from here a whale or a seal, even a visit to the perfume maker and is shop is really interestic. Don't forget to visit some of the romantic beaches in this area, especially on a sunny day you can lay down and enjoy the sun.
We both wished we could stay longer, but we will definally come back, to this Best quest house in Scotland, For Sure!
Thank you very much !!

Tranquility B&B is a wonderful place to stay and I was warmly welcomed the moment I arrived. The hosts Pauline and Phil are wonderful and made me feel at home, and I was absolutly spoiled with the fantastic breakfast they prepared. The location of the B&B is peaceful and the scenery outside my bedroom window was fabulous. It was also very easy to access near by areas, such as Inverewe Gardens, Laide Community Woodland, coastal and hill walks and fantastic beaches. I highly recommend Tranquility B&B and plan to return in the future.
