I understand that this hotel is under new management. Well they have done a great job so far. The view from the dinning room is wonderful and to me is a show stopper. The small lunch dinning area has been freshly painted inside a and looks inviting. The lunch menu is simple with a selection of sandwiches and soups with a selection of main dishes. I think that the management is doing the correct thing here. By providing a simple and adequate menu they can deliver on service and cost.
The selection of lunch meals is what I would like to address. There was a hot smoked salmon or Mackerel salad. We opted for the Mackerel. The plates were nicely presented and tasted delicious. The mackerel and salmon are both smoked locally and are of excellent quality. The mackerel salad consisted of two of the previous nights potatoes cut into small slices, a few selection of baby lettuce leaves and some mackerel which was hard to find. If I did not know better I would have thought it was a small sardine with the amount of fish we had. This was very disappointing considering the price of the dish. I cannot fault the service or the quality of the food only the value for money. Sorry
