“Amazing beaches!”
Reviewed 1 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The best thing about this property has to be the location - there's no sea view however there are stunning beaches a 5 minute walk away down a narrow path cut out through ferns and sand dunes. The film Local Hero was shot on this beach.
It's also a great location in terms of island hopping as Mallaig, the main port, is only 5 miles away.
The house is a good standard with loads of parking, set in a huge open court yard and good private outdoor space.
The living area is well furnished, the bedrooms are small but then your in a cottage. My favourite feature has to be the window sills, they're all huge due to the nature of the building.
There's a welcome pack containing bread, milk, tea and biscuits.
I've not scored this as excellent due to no dishwasher, poor lighting in the bathroom and a very cold floor.

“Everything you could need”

We were more than familiar the location which is why we initially picked the cottage. The cottage itself is fitted out to a very high standard and we were short of nothing.

“Immaculate character cottage with access to idyllic island views.”
Reviewed 16 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Raasay cottage is situated just a couple of miles outside of the small port of Mallaig and a succession of beautiful and isolated beaches is just a short walk away. The beaches allow superb views of the island of Muck, Eigg and Rhum and the sunsets have to be seen to be believed (weather permitting). The cottage itself was immaculately presented, clean, and had every facility that could reasonably be expected, including a quiet and secluded outdoor table and seating area, and excellent wi-fi. Locally available are boat trips to the islands - highly recommended - and everything you need can be bought in Mallaig. We bought fresh fish from the harbour and the taste was out of this world, and not expensive. We had a great time, and would thoroughly recommend Raasay Cottage.

“Fantastic cottage holiday.”
Reviewed 17 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We had a wonderful holiday at Raasay Cottage. A perfect home from home with easy access to the beach over the road. Perfect for evening and morning walks. The cottage is well laid out and beautiful presented. Equipped to cater for every need with a lovely outside area. We loved listening to the birds in the evening sunshine with a drink.
The cottage it beautifully decorated to a high standard and the furniture is tasteful and comfortable.
We are definitely planning on returning here!!

This beautiful, very well equipped, cozy cottage, is in a stunning part of Scotland, with fabulous beaches and lots of wonderful walks. It is very handy for visiting a number of islands.

Absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was immaculate and very well equipped. We were a bit flummoxed by the heating initially (have never had storage heaters!), but Zoe was happy to help and we were quickly nice and cosy. Zoe had even left us a few wee treats on arrival along with a pint of milk which went down very well!

The wifi isn't the quickest (you can't download movies or use Netflix), but I suspect that can't be helped due to the rural location. It didn't detract from our stay in the slightest. There is a dvd player so we brought a few dvds, but there were some there already which was great along with Monopoly, which we played happily! There is also no mobile phone signal, but there is a landline for emergencies and you do get signal in Mallaig and Arisaig which are nearby. We weren't bothered in the slightest.

The beach is absolutely beautiful, we had a few lovely walks with the baby (not pram friendly if you are planning, we used our sling which was perfect). We cannot wait to go back and will be booking for next year.

I recently had the very good fortune of visiting this wonderful cottage. It was simply the nicest cottage I have stayed in. It was spotless, tastefully decorated and the bed was so comfortable. The owner Zoe was an absolute delight to deal with and went out of her way to ensure we had a wonderful stay.
The cottage is walking distance to the most beautiful beaches you are likely to see anywhere in the world. Also only a ten minute drive to the ferry to Skye, this trip is cheap and highly recommended .
Finally the very well stocked log burner is great to settle down in front of a long day.
