Visited the Princes Arms for a meal with friends. The service and food were top quality, with a varied menu of well cooked food. 3 course about £23.00.

Did not stay so don't know what the rooms like

Hotel was booked on our behalf, as a Sat night stay with family to enable us all to attend the Tree Tops Adventure on the Sun. The hotel staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.
The evening meal was wonderful and will be going back for food, when in the area.
A car will be needed, even though I did spot a bus stop outside the hotel. Close to Betws Y Coed for visiting.
We shared a studio (2 couples) which was fine other than there was no proper shower (rubber attachment for the bath taps). The room and furniture was very old and in need of refurbishment but on a whole it was fine for one night. Another couple stayed in a refurbished room which looked nice.
All was clean and tidy. Breakfast was of a good standard, with plenty of choice.

I have stayed in this hotel several times now and it has always delivered great service, family owned and they just cannot do enough to give you a great stay, hotel restaurant serves a good choice of food and it is well prepared and presented, the locals come from far and wide to eat in the restaurant so that in itself tells you they are getting it right.
Hotel rooms are comfortable and clean.
Great location for visiting North Wales and Snowdonia.

We came on a bank holiday weekend and stayed at the princes arms as it was the very last place in Snowdonia to still have a room. Everywhere else was booked out (and had been for weeks we were told) and we soon found out why!!

When we arrived at the hotel the first thing we smelt was the fat from the kitchen. The entrance reeks of the same smell you get when you pull out that tray that's been sitting at the bottom of your oven for a few months that you've tried to forget about....Not a good start as we had planned to eat there before we arrived!

We were shown to our room very quickly. It was a small box at the back of the hotel, a small annex that probably was never intended for paying guests, but given to us at the same rate as their grander rooms that have the beautiful view that would probably have made up for it all.

In the evening my partner tried to take a shower to wash her hair only for us to find that the water pressure feeding the shower was virtually zero. I probably wouldn't have bothered writing this review had it not been for this, but this really tipped me over the edge!

Anyway at £90 per night we felt very unhappy as the room isn't worth more than £60 at the most. I complained when we checked out and was told that maybe they would sort something out next time we came (whatever that meant, I didn't bother to ask)...

Have stayed a few times and it just gets better. Food unbelievable. Owners great. In a quiet village, 2 pubs. Ideal for walking, fishing or just winding down.

Our stay in Trefriw revolved aruond walking & dining and it didn't disappoint in either, with two lakes, numerous trails & fantastic views within two miles, or you could just look out of any of the hotel windows at the river Conway & the valley . The hotel is lovely & comfy, a previous review mentioned `lumpy beds` ours was brand new - our party had very nice rooms . The dining room is a nice setting with a roaring fire during the winter months & the food is outstanding with a varied menu. On the Sunday, there were three joints to choose from - I had roast beef and was asked how I would like it cooked. All four of us loved the food & the freshly cooked breakfast was superb, we will be back soon. p.s. don't leave without trying the bread and butter pudding - it's to die for!
