This is the nicest cleanest and friendlist hotel I have ever stayed in. Tim and Fiona are a delightful couple and believe me you will not be dissapointed if you stayed here.

It is the perfect place to stay if you want to discover North Wales.

The location is a good 30 minute drive away from any major towns/snowdon walks. The inn is v well appointed, full of historic character but all the luxuries are there and the rooms/decor are to a very high standard and v clean

The owners, Tim and Fiona, are v welcoming, always greeting you by name, remembering your usual orders etc. you really do feel v comfortable being there from the moment you first arrive. The food menu is relatively standard, but is all local produce and cooked to a high quality.

Other points are:
- there was no wi-fi in the house (or village) at all
- to make the meal service work efficiently and food freshly cooked, Tim and Fiona work to a fairly set routine (eg breakfast doesn't start until 9am on Sundays). If you needed to leave early (eg to get to snowdon car park early enough to get a parking slot, or leave early due to travelling somewhere (ferry from Holyhead for example)) then you need to ask specifically for this and although it can be accommodated thru packed takeaway food, it's potentially not ideal for the full B&B experience

Overall though, a truly exceptionally well run gastropub in a v quiet location, perfect for a min-break

We stayed here for a weekend, owners very welcoming, the food was excellent and the rooms were a place from home, it was like a four star hotel. I will suggest this place to anyone wanting a weekend away, weather sight seeing or relaxing.

Room Tip: we stayed in the bothy which is a converted barn, it was fab

We have just retuned from a three night Eater break at The Lion Inn.Tim and Fiona are amazing hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are fantastic, warm, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The meals were all delicious, freshly prepared and beautifully served. The bar area is very friendly with a crackling log fire .The locals are very welcoming especially the farmers. What a gem of a place this is, one we would certainly like to return to,and one we would certainly recommend to others

Imagine sitting by a crackling fire, the sounds of friendly voices and laughter bubbling through the rustic space as you drink to your hearts content, then being shown to a table to enjoy some of the best food imaginable, choose a DVD from an extensive library and come to rest in a warm inviting bedroom. Want this? Come to this place, Stunning in every way. Tim and Fiona have got everything right. Their skills as hosts unquestionable, made us feel "looked after" without intrusion, the food, the menu both outstanding, tried lots of the menu and now dream of it! The lamb, the steak, the fish - never eaten better. All the facilities are perfect and of a high standard. The area is beautiful and magical as was the whole of our stay and in no small part because of Tim and Fiona's amazing knack at making it all welcoming, warm and delicious. Thanks Tim, thanks Fiona, it was totally ace.

You cannot help but feel very special when you stay at the Lion Inn. The hosts, Fiona and Tim do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible! Our room was woderful, warm, inviting, cosy, with all amenities, ensuite, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities (even biscuits) quiet. The food was amazing!! Fiona must have studied at the Cordon Bleu academy, her chicken, lamb and steak dinners were faultless. We cannot fault this lovely couple and their wonderful Inn!
