tim and fiona immediately made us feel welcome as a group, they'd remembered each of our names and its touches like this that make the difference and make you feel welcome. all the rooms were very smart with en suites, and the large dining room and adjoining pub/bar meant relaxing in the evening was lovely. will definitely be back!

Excellent hosts, wonderful food sourced from local suppliers where possible , plenty to do and see in this part of North Wales . All rooms suitable as bar only open limited nights to a few local farmers . Well appointed bedrooms with good design features . Good value for money .

I booked a short break here in February half term. What a great choice!
We were welcomed by Fiona and shown to our room -which was beautifully presented and really comfortable. Gwytherin is really off the main roads and is really peaceful.
Dinner was superb - Fiona's chicken pate is amazing.
After a day spent on the Ffestiniog railway, we again dined in and the dinner was again excellent.
Breakfast on both days was perfect -we will definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: We stayed in Rosemary -good choice.

Thanks to Fiona and Tim and all the locals !
Had a great three nights stay. The evening meal on the first night was amazing ! and Tim and Fiona were as helpfull as usual even though Tim was feeling under the weather.
The room was as clean and comfy as usual and the breakfast was great. The pub is cosy and the locals make you feel very welcome!

We booked a two night stay at the last minute and were very pleased with the price especially considering it was New Years eve.
Everything in this Inn is designed beautifully, every detail looked over with a careful eye and Fiona and Tim are delightful hosts. We would return again just for the breakfast alone which was fantastic. A great find.

Room Tip: Don't go for "The Bothy" annex if you are bothered by low ceilings. We didn't min...

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay in the Lion Inn, the location and scenery is beautiful and just perfect for a weekend to get away from it all. The hosts Fiona and Tim were extremely welcoming and very helpful. The room we had was lovely and very clean. There is a dvd library, books, and an ipod docking station, suggested walking routes, so lots to keep you occupied. The breakfast was a real treat in the Lion Inn, everything was local and handmade which was great. Fiona's homemade bread was really delicious. The pub part of the Lion Inn was lovely also, very cute and old fashioned in the best possible way. It was a lovely end to the day to be able to have a few drinks and a chat and then stroll upstairs to bed! Would definitely recommend the Lion Inn and would love to stay here again.

Tim and Fiona work their socks off to make sure you enjoy your stay at The Lion Inn! They are very welcoming hosts, the food is nicely cooked local produce, the rooms are clean and well equipped and the beds comfortable with lovely bed linens. Fiona is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about places to go and see or walks in the area - we followed her advice and had a couple of great days out, one day walking around a beautifully peaceful lake, another day travelling on the Blaenau-Ffestiniog railway.

Room Tip: We were warned by Tim that the attic room has very limited room, so not recommended for taller peopl...
