“Gem of a place”

Originally a mill that became a small hotel and is now an excellent B&B. The property is undergoing extensive restoration and renovation by the owners Mathew and Helen. The units released so far are finished to a very high standard indeed and each has its own front door with plenty of parking. The location is good for touring in South Wales with Brecon Beacons, Gower and Tenby all fairly close. Helen is an excellent cook and our breakfasts were just superb, we were made most welcome. The property has extensive land next to a golf course and also has a stream running through it; a truly beautiful setting. We would recommend it, particularly as it caters for different needs e.g. centre for touring, peace and quiet, birdwatching or even the golf next door.

The welcoming and down-to-earth new owners, Helen & Mat, are doing a wonderful job at rescuing this amazing mill property. The first phase has been completed recently. The self-contained B&B rooms are finished to a very high standard, and are simply superb. We fell in love with the beautifully wooded and hilly area. The mill and collection of buildings cling to a steep-sided valley with rooms overlooking a meadow at the bottom with a stream (with we were told, fishing rights – so who knows, freshly caught local trout might be on a future menu!) Breakfast was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the enthusiastic hosts and their four young daughters. The location is great too – we visited the nearby Welsh National Arboretum and spent a day in Tenby. If you’re looking for a quiet country stay but within easy reach of sea and mountains this is it!

The important thing for anyone reading this to note is that this place has new owners and has had a complete refurbishment.
The hosts are lovely. The apartments are of a high standard and specification with very thoughtful and modern touches added. The views and general setting is outstanding. The breakfast is fantastic with high quality ingredients.

We recently visited South Wales and stayed at The Mill. Not only is it set in a beautiful and peaceful location, our whole stay was great. Our room had it's own parking and access so we could come and go as we pleased. The room had been newly renovated, was clean, tidy, had the most comfy bed and lovely en suite. We had all the facilities we needed in the room and anything else Helen was more than happy to help us with. We had a great choice for breakfast and left full and happy. The whole experience was great value, good for our souls and we'll definitely be going back.
