I was really excited to eat at Milford Perk Diner and got even more excited when I saw the "Pancake Bacon Stack" which was described as "3 Fluffy Pancakes with 2 rashers of Back Bacon covered in Maple Syrup" with a picture of a large stack of American Pancakes to the side.
When it arrived, I was so disappointed. The "fluffy pancakes" were crepe like and practically cold with rubbery edges and the bacon was just what you'd expect with an english fry up, not an American breakfast staple. There was a small amount of maple syrup drizzled over the horizontal "stack".
The price was good, the milkshake was great, the service was pretty average, the decor was a bit too much and the food was bad.
I hope it wasn't the usual chef or an off day as the premise of the diner is great. Multiple food challenges with (seemingly absent) walls of fame and shame.
If as much effort had been put into the food as the actual restaurant, it would be amazing. Sadly it seems to have missed a very key part of traditional American diners: Good food
