All i can say is ignore the bad reviews, don't know what hotel the authors went to but it wasn't this one. Great staff, great service, great rooms, great food.

This hotel has been recently refurbished and the rooms are of a very high quality. The restaurant is spacious and the menu has plenty of variety.

There is live music on Friday nights and this is definitely worth staying at the hotel to see.

The people who post bad reviews obviously have expectations far beyond what is available in Pembrokeshire. If you have any concerns phone the Hotel before visiting The management team are first class and will put any doubts to rest

I arrived late in the evening and managed to find a space in their extremely small car park. The staff were very friendly throughout my stay and would definitely stay here again for the accomodation but there is no way I would eat here again. The menu was typical pub/hotel chain fare but way too ambitious for the hotel kitchen it would seem. Vegetables were only identifiable by their colour as all flavour had been lost, the fish had been overcooked and the left to cool and the prawns had absolutely no flavour wahtsoever. I was goin to give up and try elsewhere but as it was late had to rely upon the hotel to replace this meal. Now the vegetables had even less taste.
As a bed for the night this hotel is fine but seek out somewhere else to eat if you want value for money

After reading some reviews i thought i was in the wrong hotel,on arrival i was checked in quickly, when i went to my room it was very clean as was the toilet. it also had a large comfortable bed. downstairs the bar was busy but the service was quick, it was the same when we ordered food. The breakfast was as good as ive had at other hotels. Only down side was out side my window there were about 20 pidgeons living on top of a flat roof and you can here them from about 5am

We arrive on Friday night, it seemed quiet, were given the key to our room, top floor over looking the habour. The room was very spacious and clean with fantastic views. we had a meal in the bar downstair which was nice, just the usual bar meal no fuss. we went to bed about 10pm as we had travelled down late. there was a lot of noise for most tof the night that we could hear from outside and in the bar and didnt get a good night sleep at all.

We were up at 7am and we went down for breakfast by 8am, the breakfast room was in the bar, the sauces and yogurts we warming up lovely in the sun light that came through the window. i mentioned this to the waiter who wasnt really bothered. breakfast was nice. we went out for the day and came back with friends in the night for a meal. food again was usual bar food, although we were given a salad in warm bowl which wilted the lettuce which made it unedible.

Saterday night there was a wedding and the noise kept us awake all night again! breakfast was nice.
overall, food, accomodation was nice but if you want some sleep i would book else where next time as it was very noisy.

Room Tip: Top Floor habour view

Arrived in Milford Haven on afternoon of the town carnival - and party atmosphere in the Lord Nelson. Interestingly enough, no sign of any carnival activity in town itself (barring one surreal encounter with a lone float looking slightly lost), but lots of "euphoric" Milford Havenites.
Rooms were way bigger than we'd been expecting, with a separate seating area and giant zip and link bed.
Big disappointment was breakfast the next day. We weren't expecting gourmet, but some of it was bizarre (beans on toast came as simply a ladleful of beans on a plate, with toast arriving 5 mins later.
The staff had clearly worked super long shifts the day before as a result of the elusive carnival (and maybe a few sore heads as well?), which unfortunately showed in the service the next day.

pulling up outside the hotel i thought that it was a pretty decent hotel to stay in, until i entered the building. me and my husband were waiting at the reception for at least 20 minutes before i sent my husband to the bar to see if we could get service. when someone came to sign us in, they stank of smoke which made me feel sick as I'm a non-smoker. i was disgusted at the person seeing to us as they didn't seem very hospitality and did not offer to help carry our luggage all the way up the stairs to the top as we did struggle of being elderly.
the room. what i can i say about the room?
there is only one positive thing i have to say about our room is that it was nice and spacious. the windows were rattily, we could hear the traffic all night and there was a really cold breeze coming in which played up my husband arthritis.
the bed was uncomfortable and there was some curly hairs on the sheets. the bed frame did not seem steady as it did squeak a bit.
the bathroom was disgusting. there was mould around the toilet and around the tap's. the toilet seat was not correctly fitted as it moved.
down stairs at the bar i was served almost immediately as it was really quiet in the bar. the prices of the drinks were reasonable. we ordered food and we were waiting for ages even though it was really quiet. when the food eventually arrived at the table - haddock and chips also jacket potato with tuna with mayonnaise and spring onion - the chips were cold and hard, the batter on the fish was soggy, which was sent back. with the jacket potato there was no spring onion. when the haddock and chips came back to the table, which took 30 minutes, the fish was cold and i had finished before my husband, so we were not able to enjoy our meal together. we decided not to have dessert as we did not enjoy the main meal. we had one more drink then retired to our room. we was going to watch the television but there was not many channels which worked and the one's that did had bad static.
we also decided not to stay for breakfast, instead we went hunting for a new place to stay in as we were supposed to stay there again but after one night we did not wish to stay there much longer.
the town is a nice area but i would not recommend anyone staying at the Lord Nelson Hotel.

Room Tip: do not stay at the Lord Nelson Hotel
